I'm trying to install custom IOS in order to load Wii games using USB Loader GX. However, d2x cIOS returns the error "net_gethostbyname failed: -125" whenever I try to install. I'm trying to install to slot 249 with base 56 and I've tried various different settings to no avail. I've also tried downloading the cIOS using NUS, installing the wads with YAWMM and Multi-Mod Manager but I still get the same error when trying to use d2x. Does anybody know how I can fix this, or an alternative ways to install the cIOS.

it seems it can't get the IP from the hostname, which is a DNS issue.
First, do you have internet access on that wii?
Maybe you setup a filter to prevent connecting to nintendo servers for your other consoles?
3DS and youtubehax?
WiiU, might also have used some Open DNS setup.
or Switch and 90DNS?

If you changed the DNS in your router, it might affect all your connection, even the PC !
But, if you could access the servers from PC, it's probably only something done on your console, not the router.

downloading the cIOS using NUS
I doubt Nintendo Update Server provides custom IOS to pirate games.
You probably found "IOS Slot 249" which is a fake IOS to prevent piracy and replace the cIOS 249 with a non working one.

Like Xflak said, use Modmii instead of NUSD, it'll download the official IOS and patch it (like cIOS installer) but will generate it as a WAD that you can then install on your console offline using a WAD Manager (not the installer).
