Hello! I have a Nintendo DSi XL, but playing a game I realized that the microphone does not work. He tried the trick of moving the rods from the earpiece, when I touch it with a pin it makes contact but nothing else. Any solution?

The second sentence sounds like a bad machine translation. I don't really understand what this means.

If this is a machine translation: Please try again. Maybe with more short sentences.
  • Does the DSi have any software modifications?
  • Did you try microphone test in System Settings? (Configuratión de la consola → Prueba del micrófono)

Sorry, I'm from Spain and I'm using a translator.

I have made this tutorial:

If I did the microphone test and nothing.

If I did the microphone test and nothing.
  • Hold (A)+(B) on power on.
  • Select "Launcher" from the list.
  • Start System Settings and then microphone test.
    • If the test fails (no reaction on screen when talking) I guess this is a hardware defect.
Check if the microphone cable is connected on the motherboard.
Replacing the microphone is not easy.

Good luck! ¡Mucha suerte!

Are you using headphones? headphones have been known to make the mic stop working with twighlightmenu for some bizarre reason

I don't use headphones

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

If I did, with a needle I lower them and when you touch the needle you see contact, but it still does not work afterwards.

Thank you.:)

I remember,it is a very "fragile" Contact Thing,I needed also many Attempts until it works perfectly.
And if you insert Earphones it maybe did not work again....:(

It is what I do little by little but I cannot put into operation ... could you make a video of how you move the connectors?

For me the best Method was to open the DSi Sound Tool and try it,slowly and calm.
If you have nothing on the Records (no crackles/sounds) then maybe it is unfortunately really broken.

I do not dare to open it, I read in many places that it is not easy.
Hello.:D

The Nintendo DSi Sound Tool on the DSi Menu ? Dangerous ? That is really new to me.

Excuse me,if I was a little unclear for you. Here you can record Sounds with the DSi Micropone.
What I want to say is:

- Open this Tool please
- Record and at he same Time try to "correct" the Pins please .
- You will see an the "Amplitude" on the Upper Screen

during Record if something goes "IN".

Good luck and
Thank you.:)

it doesn't work either But while I record, I touch the tabs of the headphone hole with a pin and it sounds like noise on the recording.

I have opened the nintendo, and the microphone cable is aesthetically perfect, I have put it back together and the microphone still does not work. Could it be that the microphone cable is defective even if it is not aesthetically visible? I bought a replacement and as soon as I get home I will replace it with a new one.

Good to hear the Cable is ok.:)

I am still thinking about that it is an Pin/Contact Issue.
I remembered it on my DSi,it needed many tiny Tries with an Needle until it works really perfect.:(
First I did not noticed it,but then I played "Yoshi´s Touch and Go".
Then I used the DSi Sound Application and there I see it,that the Microphone is not working.
So I searched and found the Link (above posted) and tried it,it takes a long Time as I said.
Maybe the PIN was already "sulky" before,I had no Idea.:)

It is that I take a long time with a pin playing and I do not get anything ... I just get what I told you before, while I do the microphone test, I play with the pin and I see that the colors go up as if I had contact, but nothing more ...
