I think you're going to have to reinstall the games.

Don't update to firmware 10.0. Many things are still unstable and no games require it.

Won't the new animal crossing update require it this friday? And how about the Trials of mana that is also releasing friday.

You know that games and such have to be in development sometime before the firmware update has already been released to require it don't you?

Yes I know that but the animal crossing update is digital and from nintento themselves. So the probability is there.

Sorry for the rambling suit of questions.

I'm really confused about a few things, including emuMMC. Back in the 3DS days I ran emuNAND, went online with it, updated the firmware no problem. I don't think I ever tried connecting to the eShop if I recall.

Anyway, emuMMC. When I boot up in this mode, am I able to connect to the internet with no issues or is that likely going to land my console a ban? I ask because I'm not able to get Tinfoil working for some reason on firmware 10.0.0, so I tried using Awoo Installer instead. Awoo Installer has an option to install over LAN or internet.

Another issue: Awoo Installer doesn't want to install my .XCI files, but .NSP is fine. Having a real hard time with anything .XCI unfortunately

Another thing: Signature patches. I've googled these but tbh I don't really understand what they're for and what I need to do with them

As always, much appreciation for anyone who can help or tries to help.

Is there a way to know if a console is banned or not?
Try loading the eShop.

emuMMC works the same way as it does on the 3DS. It is a copy of your system that is run from the SD card.

To install .XCI files with Awoo Installer, you can either put them on the SD card or install them via NS-USBLoader. You also have to enable the .XCI installation box in NS-USBLoader.

"Signature patches" is a horrible antiquated term and should die in a fire. There are 2 main patches used on the Switch for CFW, ES and FS patches. ES stands for Eticket Services which are used in installing and launching pirated .NSP files (because only .NSP files use tickets). FS patches (which stands for File System) are required to install and launch .XCI files or converted .NSP files such as a homebrew .NSP files.

So, does this mean I can go online while booted into the emuMMC partition, update firmwares, etc etc and not have to worry about a ban?

I copied the .XCI files to my SD card and tried installing them from there. Won't work, regardless of game. NSP files work no problem. I haven't tried using NS-USB Loader though

How do I know if I need them and where to get if I do?

Of course there is only so many times one can say thanks, but there are about 10000004 thanks attached to this reply
