Hi all!

So, my son basically bricked my CBHC by deleting files from the system, won't boot to system, won't boot to vWii, it's done.

I am planning on buying a new console only, would this require a full reinstall of all my installed Wii U games? I suspect there is some sort of encryption on those files tied to my console which may mean I have to reinstall everything (ugh) again. I don't care about the save files or anything, just anything to avoid the pain of reinstalling all the Wii U games (and DLC) again.

The vWii and Gamecube games I had were all placed on SD, so those shouldn't be too difficult to get back running, it's mainly the WIi U games off hard drive that I'm concerned about.

Hello.:)

Unfortunately the HDD is "chained" on the Wii U.When I quote this correct
"..it will ask you to re-format your HDD when you plug the HDD into a new Wii U."

Sorry to have no more pleasant Informations, you have to re-install all your Games on the HDD again.:(

I recently bought a second one and loading the games took 3 whole days using a 256gb sd card. It was painful. Good luck with that.

I bricked one recently playing around with SSL certificates on the console. I had over 100 titles installed. That was back in late December and I've only gotten around to reinstalling maybe 10 of them. The process is cumbersome for sure!

I remember this being utterly painful the last time I did it. :( It's just the WIi U stuff though. The Nintendont and vWii stuff I already have on a separate SD card so its basically plug and play.

Oh, I don't use the vWii or Nintendont. I find it more accessible by injecting GC/Wii games instead. I use my Gamepad like my switch. Mostly in portable mode.
