Download a program called GUIFormat to reformat the SD card to FAT32.

Hey, I'm thinking of installing a CFW on my switch, but a lot of my game data is on my SD card and I don't want to have to install it on the switch itself. What do I do? Sorry if this is a really basic question, I'm new lol.

Am I safe to go ahead and try to install them? Where can I check for official updates so I know whether its safe to upgrade firmware?

You do not install CFW on the Switch.

They are noted in the changelog of the releases page of the respective GitHub pages. Atmosphere had a new release after releasing a build that supports firmware 9.2 so the changelog indicating 9.2 support is in the next most recent release while Hekate's latest release should clearly indicate the addition of 9.2 support. If you're still having trouble, just Control+F "9.2"

Thanks again man, I should have seen it. I think I've been doing too much reading on this stuff this past couple of days. There is a lot of take in and I prefer to have a decent grasp of whats going on before I begin projects like this. You have been a great help.

I have a bad habit of updating my systems I buy to the latest firmware.
That being said I am on 9.2.0 with a unpatched model.
Is there a way I can install a lower firmware to emunand from the firmware I am on currently?
My objective is to try a homebrew app but the latest firmware is not supported.

Hey guys I'm aware of the tinfoil "ignore firmware" when Installing a game but for future games is that a guaranteed way of ensuring that future games work? I had gotten very comfortable with my 9.1.0 build. I do have another modded switch on 9.2.0 that I use for app testing but I dont like it very much since a handful of emulators doesnt support it yet.

If you guys had a PSP or a PS3 you could like bypass the firmware requirements and the games will play but ever since the golden ages it's been harder to do that. If there is really no way I'll just keep this switch intact and use the other one for latest firmware backups

Yes, just use the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX in emuMMC to install whatever firmware you can find.

No, all games have built-in requirements that depend on which Nintendo SDK they were built with and cannot be ignored. Also, you cannot expect what worked in the past to work in the present. The more exploits we have abused have caused the developers to learn new tricks to counter them.

I haven't been on here in a few months, but I did get alot of help with learning how to hack my switch, downloading and installing NSP files. Anyways, now that Nintendo has updated their firmware, how do I update my hacked switch to 9.2 firmware? I did, for some dumb reason save Pokemon Shield NSP on the switch instead of my FAT32 SD card, would that be an issue too? I have SX OS on my hacked switch.

Hi everyone! I’m still new to Switch hacking but I’ve checked in on the scene occasionally throughout last year and this year. I’ve read the whole comprehensive guide on switch homebrewimg maybe 23 times total now and understand the process but I have three major questions.

1) If I save everything on my microsd card, can I put it all back on there later?

2) Is emuNand like “a virtual switch inside my SD card that I can boot into?” If I were to play a pirated game on my emunand would I still be able to play my bought games legit on my sysnand without getting banned?

3) If my switch turns off, what will I need to repeat?

Sorry if these are a lot of me to ask but these three questions in particular have held me back from biting the bullet. I’d appreciate any help at all :,)

A copy of the NAND is stored on the actual partition which includes BOOT0, BOOT1, and the eMMC raw GPP which is further divided into eMMC SYS and USER. If you're familiar with how sysMMC works, eMMC USER is the partition where you install games and other content to internal memory. The emuMMC folder contains instructions on how the emuMMC operates including which Nintendo folder to use for emuMMC. The Nintendo folder's role is to hold games and other content installed to the SD card.

3. Entering RCM and sending a payload via USB. AutoRCM can alleviate the first step but the only way to automate payload sending is to install a modchip

I mean if I can switch to jailbroken version and then use emulators and tools then switch to standard and play online games that I've bought legally?

I thought I can do that it using RCM loader.
