That's the site, thanks. I ended up just moving the art I had from Wii Backup Manager's folder to my SD card so USB Loader GX load them.

I have one more question. Is there a way to rename game titles manually? Such as Fatal Frame IV which is titled Zero. I tried in Wii Backup Manager but it still name it Zero.

I don't know. with wii u titles, you can rename them in the meta.xml. I've never explored a wii game's files though. there may be a way, but I'm not sure. the 360 suffers from the same problem. I think duke nukem is named bullseye. it's kinda frustrating when things get out of order due to that.

I'm planning my Wii U softmod but can't really understand the difference between vwii and Nintendont - what I want is to be able to play Wii U, wii and Gamecube backups all on one SD card - but I've read that you can't run vwii and Nintendont on the same card? Or do I just need one of them to be able to achieve this?

I have a problem. The vWii internet does not work with the lan adapter, only wireless.
The adapter works normally with the Wii U and even the Switch and also with my original Wii.
The error code is: 52120.

Detail: In the Homebrew Channel notifies that it is connected, including the IP address.

Hello,

in your internet box ,try to change the channel on your Wii U, and put either "1" or "6" or "11".

To rename a file in USB Loader GX, you can change the name:
1. Load USB Loader
2. In GUI Loader under settings, change the view to start up disc
3. return to main menu of usb loader and select the game you want
4. once the spinning disc shows up, click on the name of the game and it should pop up with a keyboard where you can change the name of the title.

Hey, kind of ran into a huge error. I’ve had my system hacked for about 2 years off of this guide with little to no problems. Today however after initializing my HDD and loading up the channels and games like normal, everything was all glitchy. Many of the banners were all displaying the same game and many of the games were either cloned or mislabeled. After about 10 seconds of me trying to boot something, I got an ERROR: EXCEPTION DSI message. I deleted, reinstalled, and set all the settings to default for USBLGX and it’s still doing the same thing.

Hey guys
So, I am new to vWii hacking (but not hacking in general, I already hacked my Wii U years ago) and I have a couple of questions. I have installed the HomeBrew Launcher to vWii, have backed up my Nand and want to start installing a few things, but here's where I am currently stuck.

It looks like the general idea for "installing" and running games in vWii mode is by using an external Hard Drive. I've read that I can't use the one I use for my Wii U, and I don't exactly have a spare one lying around. Is it possible to install the games to a SD Card?

Also, is it possible to install Channel forwarders to the vWii Nand, or do they have to be installed to USB aswell? I know the HomeBrew Launcher is installed to the Nand, I just want to be sure. I'm thinking of installing the Wiimod Lite Channel forwarder aswell as the one for USB Loader GX

Hello.:)

You can use the same Wii HDD also for the vWii Mode on your Wii U.If it is formatted with FAT32 you can also use it for Nintendont too.
Please note you have to use only one of the USB Ports on the back Side from your Wii U.Or better use an Y-Cable too.
The Front USB did not work for use the Wii HDD !

Yes,you can install Forwarder Channels on your vWii but please be sure to check if it is the matching Version for your vWii.
For Example for the USBLoader GX:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/usbloadergx/files/Releases/Forwarders/

Never use that one from the regular Wii please !! In the worst case your vWii Mode is for ever unusable !!
Thank you.:)

Thank you, If that's true, then that'd be awesome, since my Wii U Hard Drive has way more Capacity than I would ever need with Wii U games alone. However, this thread here https://gbatemp.net/threads/is-it-possible-to-use-external-hdd-for-both-wiiu-and-vwii.532238/ has some conflicting answers, some say it works, others say it don't.

I need some more info on how this works please.

As for the Channel Forwarders, I actually already took the chance and installed the Wii Mod Lite Forwarder. No worries, I knew about the Wii and vWii differences, so I installed the right version, it seems to work just fine

To get clear,I think you maybe get the wrong Way:

A Wii U formatted HDD can only used with Wii U Games on the Wii U - No splitting/sharing with other Systems.

The Wii HDD with Wii Games and GameCube Games can used on the Wii and vWii mode from the Wii U

:)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

What you can install on the Wii U HDD are VC Injects for different Systems like Gamecube/DSi and so on.:)

I see..Damnit, That's what I thought:/ So I do need a second Hard Drive for use with vWii only then?

Or can I use these "VC injects" to install Wii/gamecube games etc. to the same Wii U Hard Drive? Let's say I have a bunch if Wii ISO files, can I "convert" these to VC format and install them to the same Hard Drive?

Sorry if this is confusing. I just REALLY don't want to go out and buy a second Hard Drive for vWii only...

Yes you can make VC Injects from all of them but please Note there is a Game Limit of 300 in total.
So the maybe better Solution is a second HDD or maybe you are lucky and have a working USB Stick (not so recommended).:)

Anyone? I took a picture this time to show exactly what it is doing, no matter what I select, it crashes within seconds of selecting. Nothing works anymore and I have no idea how this even happened to begin with since I never touched the files or settings since the initial setup.

Hi guys, just wondering if I could get some help with getting USB Loader GX to work properly on VWii!

So, all looks fine upon first glance. USBLGX works with an externally powered USB HDD and can load both Wii and Gamecube (via Nintendont) software. However, when I reset out of a Wii game, and re-enter USBLGX via the Homebrew menu (no forwarder currently installed), I'm unable to properly select any games or options, and have to hard reset by turning off the power point connected to my WiiU. Any thoughts as to why this would be occurring? I have a hacked Wii, and it has no trouble going between multiple games after resets. Is WiiFlow a better option for VWii? Cheers!

Is there a guide for uninstalling hacks on the vWii? I want to reset my wii u to it's stock state so i can format and update it, as it often crashes.

Hello.:)

That could be maybe a HDD Intialization/Re-Intialization Issue.:(

- How is your vWii´s cIOs Setup (249 and 250) please ?
- How is your HDD connected please ?
(Y-USB Cable or Single USB,the Wii U needs "more" Power for the USB HDD´s because of the different (USB)Architecture fro the Wii).
- Do you have an Additional Power Supply for the HDD ?
- Which USB Ports on the Wii U did you use (maybe your HDD works better on the back Ports if you did not already tried it).
- Which Version from the USBLoader GX did you use please ?

Of Course you can try the other USBLoaders Wii'Flow/WiiFLow Lite MOD/Configurable USB Loader. If you have the Same Issues, then maybe one of the Points above could help you.:)

Thank you.:)

Hello.:)

If you followed a "good Wii U Hacking Guide" you have a virgin NAND Backup from your Wii U and from your vWii.

You can use @GaryOderNichts brand new Tool "vWii NAND Restorer:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-vwii-nand-restorer.560948/

With that you can "restore" your original vWii (if you have the NAND Backup as mentioned from the "good" Wii U Hacking Guide).

Thank you.:)
