Is there a way to hide "boot stock" and "boot cfw sysNAND" in hekate so I don't risk using those by mistake and thus end up "staining" my clean sysNAND?
Moreover, if by mistake I install something to the nand and not to the micro SD when I'm using emuMMC, will this "stain" sysNAND or it won't be detected since I did it while in emuMMC?
You can configure Hekate to autoboot the option you want.

Installing something directly to the emuNAND will not dirty the sysNAND.

Hi, I've just tried the Nvidia GeForce now app on my phone and it works pretty good, so much so that I'm thinking about setting up android on my switch, as long as it's not too complicated. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good guide to 1 set up android on my switch and 2 install GeForce now. Appreciate any help

Maybe a stupid question, but I did an emuMMC nand backup using hekate, and after completing it in parts, the screen was stuck at 100% progress, and never said a "done!" message, even though I got to 82% before I had to move data off the card, and when it came back and started up again at 82% without issue once I reinserted the card. Once it was at 100% I waited for a done message, but nothing like that happened, and then hitting Close did nothing either, making it almost like it was frozen. I turned off the system again, moved data to my safekeeping spot on my PC, and now I'm wondering, is the nand backup finished and working, or do I need to do something more to complete it?
I would try dumping the NAND again. There is no telling if it actually finished or is not corrupted.

I haven't updated in a while.

What is the most current official firmware that is compatible with CFW and are the any files I need(don't need links, just names of files or programs) to update from 8.0.1-0.0 to the latest compatible one. I most just want to add the latest patch of SwSh(which I already have on top of cart versions of both games) to my hacked switch, which I heard requires 9.1.0 or something like that.
All CFW except ReiNX support firmware 9.1

Make sure the update and the base game are the same region. I had the same issue with the Binding of Isaac.

A few questions:

1) Going from exfat to fat32. Is it really as easy as making a backup of the SD. Format the SD and put everything back? Or are there extra steps?

2) What is the best program to use to format the SD card to fat32 on windows 10?

3) What is the best program on windows 10 to use after that to transfer games over USB with the latest goldleaf on switch? Also any specific version I need, because tried this in the past and it just crashed.

4) Does homebrew, like emulators still work on the latest firmware (9.1.0) in combination with atmosphere/kosmos? I read somewhere at one point that it didn't work/was buggy.

Can you change regions of your console without having to connect online? I was playing the new ペルソナ5スクランブル・ザファントムストライカ―ズ demo yesterday and I thought I was good since I had the console language set to Japanese, but I guess since my console region was set to US it kept trying to bring up a US keyboard instead of a Japanese keyboard when I was supposed to enter my name. Can you freely switch console regions without having to go online and update your profile? I'm on Kosmos and obviously never want to connect my Switch to a network. I'd like to be able to use Japanese names when playing games in Japanese.

EDIT: Ugh I probably would have to setup a Japanese account wouldn't I? Or convert the logged in account to Japanese. Neither of which is something I'm going to do with a hacked Switch since I won't take it online.

my switch is on 9.0.0 and so is my emmunand but i'm wanting to update my firware on sxos

Use the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX.

  1. It is just as easy
  2. GUIFormat
  3. I don't use nor recommend Goldleaf but I personally use Aluminum Foil combined with Adubbz Tinfoil
  4. It depends and I do not advise updating to 9.1 unless a game or update requires it

Nope, you have to go online

is it now possible to install games on external harddrive on atmosphere?
No.

Hello! I wanted to update to the new Tinfoil, but now it looks like everything is write protected? I can't do anything anymore, can't manually add a line my hekate_ipl, nothing.

I've tried to unlock the writing protections on my computer but to no avail - help please? :'(

Do I need to download new versions of Atmosphere, Checkpoint, Goldleaf, and Choi to make them compatible though? I haven't updated any of those since CFW became compatible with 8.0.1

Upgrading to 9.1.0 prevented my Pokemon Sword cart from being read. I downgraded back to 8.0.1 and it worked again. Is there any way to fix this?

Edit: It seems to be a thing with atmosphere and updates, however phrases like "nogc patch" nd "BCT.INI file" mean nothing to me since it has been so long since I've hacked the switch so I'd pretty much need a step-by-step process of what I need to even do to fix thing.

The only files I updated in any capacity were Atmosphere itself, Choi, Checkpoint, and Goldleaf

you need to edit the BCT.ini file and change the nogc = 1 to 0 but if you do it you can't use your game cart for anything under 9.0.0

Could a Nintendo Switch with a hackable serial number be hacked on any firmware? Noobie here lol.

Yes it can

Yes it can
but is there any way to use it in 9.1.0? tried other carts and they also don't work in 9.1.0 but work in 8.0.1. I want to add the Pokemon Sword patch that requires 9.1.0, playing it on anything older is pointless because of that reason

You need to edit the BCT.ini file as I said and if your talking about the 1.1.0 update it can be played on older firmware

Hi guys
New to the scene although have hacked my 3DS without any probs in the past. Been reading up and have a few questions.

I've just purchased an unused 1st gen Switch on eBay. It has a hackable (green) serial i.e. unpatched, and should be running 4.1.0 firmware, so I can use either RCM hardware or Caffeine software exploits.

Q1 - which should I use? Happy to use RCM and have the jig etc ready but is there an advantage to also setting up Caffeine too?

Q2. I haven't even turned on the Switch yet. Should I put it on, do the initial setup and go online to create a NNID so I can use the GDPR protections (I'm in Europe)? Or just start using the hacking guide with the Switch completely new and not set up yet?

Q3. My switch came with a free download code for Mario Kart. Is it safe to use this on Sysnand without getting banned once I have set up emuNAND?

Thanks guys
