I searched quite a bit, and almost everyone seems to want to do things the other way around. Only one mention of this controler being used on sony consoles at all.

To put it bluntly, I want to know how well it connects to ps3 (and maybe ps4) by itself or with its dongle. The one video I saw mentioned the iphone mode connecting correctly to the ps3. with the only exeption being the PS button.

I just want to make sure it works well before buying one, because I'm considering buying either it or the steam controller. More inclined on the 8bido one for cheaper price and extra connectivity.

I just used the SN30 Pro the other day (in Mac OS mode). Everything worked great but I had to reconnect manually every boot. I'm sure I was doing something wrong though, as that shouldn't be necessary. No PS button, but there may be a mode or firmware that can enable it. I'm sure if you used the Mayflash Magic dongle that it you could get the PS button working (along with rumble).

Thank you, this is a nice confirmation for the video I saw. I'm considering buying the pro+ tho (gotta get my hands on them sexy handles) but I wonder how much it changed from the older pro, and if it still connects that way.

Also, mayflash? I saw some options related to a really big dongle that... Well, it's as expensive as the controller. Not worth it since I just want a multitask replacement (ps3 controller battery died, I can get a new one, but I want the extra connectivity)
Anyway, gonna look into that, thanks too!

I just went through a similar situation when I got my PS3 from my parents house, but couldn't find the controller for it. If you have a PS4 controller, that will work wired or wireless about the same as a third party controller (no PS, no rumble) except with the added benefit that it will turn the system on. I got the mayflash NS dongle for $18 off of Amazon. You can connect almost any controller to it, and it restores the PS button functionality as well as rumble. You can't turn the system on with it though, which is a slight downside. I ended up buying a dualshock 3 in the end because none of the other solutions allow for motion controls. Not a lot of games have motion controls, but if you're playing one that does, it can be frustrating. If you're buying a PS3 controller, watch out for fakes; they can be very convincing. Lastly, if you're using an alternate solution and want to be able to turn the system on and use the PS button (without mayflash dongle), check your local Gamestop for a PS Move Navigation controller. They are selling them used for $2.99 so it's a cheap solution to be able to turn the console on and navigate back to the menu.

I'm not really concerned about the motion controls on the ps3, I just want something that allows me to play some simpler games (like ps2 hd releases and remakes such as zone of the enders and Odin sphere) and maybe more.

Saw some ppl recommending the titan two dongle, not sure how much compatibility it allows, but for the price it has I'd rather buy a second controller. Sad that I'm not on US tho, I'll have to buy online and import stuff anyway. And hopefully the whole plague inc shenanigans (coronavirus) will have been dealt with by then.

I'm back here and now I'm concerned about motion controls on PS4 and pc. Got a Cronusmax and the controllers, but I can't connect the controller fully to the Cronusmax to enable motion... Sad stuff. It should work fine on the ps3, tho.

PS4 controller on PS3? Is anything else better? If you don't have one go do yourself a favor. You might as well get the ps4 with it if you can. Oh yeah a ps3 controller but have not seen those in ages.
