other games are either not using the same memory location for the controller's mapping, or not even using the same controler's library and SDK version.
one cheat for one game region can't work for another game region as is, it will need memory addresses re-allocation.

So, if you found a gameconfig for PAL, you can't edit the titleID to make it work on USA, unless you are sure the patch works for both version.
Gameconfig accepts wildcard [SMN?01] for example. the "?" replace one character, and allows all region to share the same batch of codes, but only if these games have the same layout and memory addresses.

did you find other gameconfigs ?
the kirby patch (from Crediar) is for NTSC-U only. [SUKE01]
you have the ones for donkey and mario ?

Note that gameconfig is only a different way to patch cheats, and an Ocarina cheatcode can do the same than gameconfig format, both patching the same things but written differently.
so, either the cheat developer made a gameconfig, or an ocarina version, or both.
if you have gameconfig which are not easy to find, please share them :)

No, Kirby's Return to Dream Land is the only NTSC game that I have but Donkey Kong Country Returns and New Super Mario Bros. Wii are both PAL games.

Yes, on the other thread I shared my findings about Kirby's Return to Dream Land (NTSC) because it is not as easy as it seems. I'll paste them below. I still haven't found a solution for Donkey Kong Country Returns (PAL) and New Super Mario Bros. Wii (PAL) so I can't use the classic controller playing those two.

To use the classic controller on Kirby's Return to Dream Land (NTSC):

OK, I think it's working now, I'll double check just in case and I'll try the same for Donkey Kong Country Returns. For those with problems, this is how it is working for me now. I hope that I can help somebody as I've been helped before by other users in here.

First of all, you need to have the Ocarina app, which I didn't have, on the apps folder on your SD card (http://www.mediafire.com/file/c47btk71s7y7kcs/Ocarina.rar).

Secondly, there are two types of files you need for each game, one is a TXT file that has the cheats written (http://geckocodes.org/index.php?c=SUKE01) and the second one is a CGT file that is produced. USB Loader GX or Codemgr (included with Ocarina download) both have the option to create the CGT file. The text file goes in a folder named txtcodes and the GCT files in a folder called codes, as explained in this guide (https://gbatemp.net/threads/ocarina-cheats-guide.468862/). USB Loader GX puts them there by default.

Thirdly, for avoiding the black screen, you need to create another text file with the content posted by boraborawayway on this very thread (http://crediar.no-ip.com/krtdcd.txt).

Additionally, if you are using USB Loader GX, select the game, click on Settings, Game Load, Ocarina > ON.

With the cheat I am using for supporting the Classic Controller you can also use the SNES controller of the Nintendo Club and the SNES controller of SNES Classic Mini, like in any other Wii game that supports the Classic Controller.

I dunno, but you can use Gecko OS instead, it should be more up to date. And there is also a code downloader to download codes and generate the .gct files on the Wii so you don't have to mess around on a PC.
https://wiibrew.org/wiki/Code_Downloader (only downloads the .txt, needs a separate app to create the .gct)
MegaCodeDownloader does both in one app but is not working anymore.
https://wiibrew.org/wiki/WiiLauncher (works as GeckoOS but with cheat downloading and management built in, this might be a better option)
I have not tested if these still work.
Most USB loaders these days also have cheat downloading and management built in. USB Loader GX and WiiFlow Lite both have this feature and are capable of loading discs so that might be a good option. And they for sure still work properly.

Thanks, before this I didn't even know what Ocarina codes are. I don't have a Action Replay for GCN, so I think I might use this as a substitute.

I'm extremely new to all this so this answer might not help you, but if I understand correctly, Gecko OS is just for Wii titles. Ocarina of Time is an N64 title that was later made for GameCube and 3DS. It wasn't made for Wii. I'm assuming, of course, that you're playing Ocarina of Time.

Will this work for games that are digital downloads? I have two that are only digital downloads and I don't think I have the discs for those anymore (will have to do some searching for them).

Gecko OS does support cheat codes for WiiWare and VC titles, but iirc you need a specific IOS.

Hi,
I'm having trouble with Ocarina cheats for Mario Party 6 & 7.
Basically, I just want to have all the minigames, boards and characters unlocked when playing with the microphone.
I can't use my save files because I have to turn off the memory card emulation for the gc mic to work.
Hence I need the cheats...

My USB Loader GX app and games are on an external drive.
I followed the guide but can't seem to get the cheats to pop up for me except one time for mp6 and they didn't work.

I have the Ocarina app in the apps folder (unsure if necessary for USB loader gx).

"codes" and "txtcodes" folders in drive root - D:\codes and D:\txtcodes.

I put GP6P01.txt and GP7P01.txt in "txtcodes", GP6P01.gct and GP7P01.gct in "codes" folder.

In game settings>Game load turned Ocarina ON, tried turning Ocarina ON in Loader settings as well, tried using global settings in game settings with Loader set as Ocarina ON and all combinations and still can't get the list of cheats to pop up when clicking Ocarina for each of the two games.
"Error - Cannot find the cheat file" or a similar message.

Checked the paths in loader settings
usb:\codes and usb:\txtcodes

The txt files are from gamehacking.org and tried different ones I found online.
Tried generating cgt files with code manager and tried downloaded cgt files.

The one time where the cheat list did pop up and I could turn them ON and OFF and click create I believe it was for the European version of the game and I have the US one. However, the cheats didn't work.

I hope I'm missing a very simple step but can't find any guide that's different from what I did numerous times.
