You can go online but don’t use unlegit games or homebrew. It‘s like a ticking bomb.
Yeah but like for example what's the point of having a homebrew appstore if you can't go online with your switch? No way to block any other connection to Nintendo?

Also does anyone know why the hekate_ipl file from nh-server.github[dot]io/switch-guide/user_guide/emummc/sd_preparation/ doesn't seem to work, where fusee gelee does?

With which option do you boot? Have you created EmuMMC?
Yeah, I created emunand and tried launching with the option in Hekate "Boot to emunand something" and black screen, but no black screen if I launch with fusee gelee from tegraRCM

And when you boot with fusee primary it boots to EmuMMC or eMMC (SysNAND)?

Emunand I think, how can I check?

Edit: Actually emunand doesn't boot now, probably because I updated Sysnand and it burnt fuses? Not sure. How can I update my emunand?

Edit2: It was the game card slot. Removing the game made it work again so that's taken care of.

You can check in the system settings where your firmware version is located. If there is a "S" at the end, you're in SysNAND and if there is an "E" at the end, you're in EmuNAND.
Has EmuNAND ever worked? Also if you have burnt more fuses than you should have for your EmuNAND, it should still work. Because you use fusee primary or hekate to boot to EmuNAND and not the official boot loader which checks for fuses.

Yeah I found out it was the gamecard slot, I removed the game and now it works, apparently my Emunand is 6.2.0 and my sysnand is the latest OFW

Using the latest version of Checkpoint but there is no option to backup save files from the other accounts on the switch like you could with the older version?

Hekate still can't boot my emunand for some reason though, which is very weird, why would fusee gelee work but not hekate?

The latest version of Checkpoint does allow you to backup saves from other user accounts. Change the user account by selecting the account image.
