Hello everyone,

I bought a switch that doesnt power on on Ebay. After replacing the charging port and the PI3USB IC the Switch was booting and working fine.

The previous owner of the Switch has set a parental code on the console and doesnt remember it so i tried to boot on a CFW to get the Device ID and remove the parental code but the console was not detected by TegraRCM even if it was really in RCM Mode. When i plug the Switch into my computer in OFW its not detected at all. Outside of that the console is charging fine and working on a TV in the dock.

Ive check the D+ and D- rails ont the motherboard and got nothing on the ocsilloscope on the D+ and a steady 400mv on the D- while on a working Switch I got some pulses on each lines. Ive check the continuity between the pins of the connector and the test points (A1 to A2 and B1 to B2 on my picture) and its good. Ive check with a multimeter in diode mode on the D+ and D-, on the working Switch i have .500 on both but on the non functionnal one ive got OL on both. Ive check the component ive noted F on the picture which I presume is a filter and its good.

Does someone have a solution for that or the issue is coming from the CPU and there is no hope ?

Thanks

I had an exact switch with the same problem and unfortunately i could not find a solution. It seems that the problem is from the SoC. Probably a reballing would solve the problem. Request an opinion from user @Pintglass.

What board revision you guys have with this issue?
What about diode assembly(7C also filter) right under "F" - choke, mb it's grounding signal, did you checked it?
I would take it off to make sure, Console should work without it.

The board is HAC-CPU-10 serial XAJ400366.

Ive checked the 7C filter and I didnt find an issue with it. I have a Switch donnor board I will replace it and see if there is some changes.

So Ive removed 7C as you said and I have some changes, now on D- in diode mode i have 1,66 and still OL on D+. When i plug the console on my PC I have a message of windows saying that the peripheral cant be recognized and have an issue.

I'd say your out of luck as the damage will be within the SOC

I have a similar issue. D- is always 0.74v and D+ is 0.0v with nothing connected or USB connected.

However when I solder a trinket mod it pulls 3.1v from D+ but still won't inject payload.

HAC-CPU-20 revision
Diode 7C doesn't seem to be on this board revision. All alternative USB points on the board test out fine for connectivity.

I'll be getting my oscilloscope out of my storage unit later.

Well if you cant eject a payload even with a trinket I guess i have a sorta working switch with a parental lock

Does your USB port charge on both sides of the cable? Like if you flip it over...

Also you can contact Nintendo and get the parental controls removed. Not really a big deal.

Yes it is charging on both side and connect to the TV on dock aswell.

I am not the original buyer of the console so if i contact Nintendo to remove the parental lock, will they not ask me some proof that I am the owner (like a theft protection) ?
