Neither.
The USB title isn't even started that early into the boot process, so it would need a low level implementation and killing the usb services.

If it was possible, don't you think TX would have implemented it by now especially considering they were the first to implement HDD support?

I had already asked m4xw if emuEMMC could be booted via USB drive and I quoted his response. Also TX are always the one boasting about their exclusive features like .XCI mounting, HDD support, and what used to be EmuNAND so if it could be done, why wouldn't they have done it by now?

Maybe because running EmuNand on an HDD via USB requires a virtual environment like L4T, so it's a Bios job and not a Driver's job?

M4XW himself has said why it can't be done... Horizon can't do shit with USB until long after FS is launched

I mean if you put the effort into it to write a custom driver (for before fs is up) and all the patches for when its up it may be doable but this is barely worth the huge effort this would take.

You could launch a boot usb stack and then hand over to horizon stack once it's running. Essentially like usb support in PC's.

It's a lot of work and I'm not sure that it's a good idea having emunand on a device that will disappear when you undock, but that is different to being impossible.

I'm disappointed in m4xw if he actually claimed it was impossible.

Yup, basically since FS is a KIP, thus launches way before regular sysmodules, like USB. I think @m4xw plans to make a full USB reimpl someday in order to fix this issue.

Meanwhile, my impl will be useful to use USB drives.

Well.. me I am just waiting it even support XCI install just a simple USBHDD mount to play on dock like SX OS so I don't have to switch using Atmosphere and SX OS whenever I need to use noexs.
