I'm pretty sure they just saw SciresM's tweet about being able to get update data from a Switch Lite, assumed an exploit was coming soon, and so they announced a solution early just so it wouldn't seem like they stole it from Atmosphere later.

I'm pretty sure you saw SciresM's tweet accusing them of that. I don't know if I'm convinced.

Will certainly be interesting to see what happens, but I wouldn't pre-order. If it happens then I think I can wait, it's not like they'll run out.

For gog's sake don't give money to anyone for a "preorder" until there's actual evidence something exists. Obviously they'd love to have your money in the meantime, but be sensible.

Pre ordering this is like those people that pre order games with no info about it and act surprised when the game sucks on launch.

I wont pre order, but if we get new info from TX and it works for unpatched units, maybe i would get a Switch Lite and give it a try.

There is no difference if you get the "product" on launch or after it was checked to save you from wasting money and/or sacrifice your hardware.
If it will ever exist, it is a digital product. There is no scarcity.

After a few (hundred) requests, I was finally able to meet with TX to have them demo to me their upcoming new products for Nintendo Switch (patched, mariko and lite). Sadly, I was not allowed much, not able to take any pictures or videos, and no release date (more on this later), but I still have some new information which I can share:
Mod3DSCard.com, have already added pre-order pages, but we must remind you there is no confirmed date or price yet from Team-Xecuter, so these resellers are basically just gathering a 'waiting list' for the when it does become available to pre-order.

First Off: It is a hardware mod. TX went back to its roots, and this solution is a device you need to install inside your Switch.

From what we could tell the install looks ultra simple and almost plug and play. When pushed about the install requirements, TX held back from claiming its fully solder-less, stating clearly that this particular design will always benefit from a few simple solder connections, versus the original intent of fully solder-less (at least for the classic model which is the unit we got to inspect).

In other words, a fully solder-less install is potentially possible with the classic models however it is not recommended by TX due to long term reliability concerns (we will cover this more in-depth at a later date, once we have our preview unit in our hands and put it thru some tests)

Second Point: There is one device for Patched and Mariko unit which is probably under production (see point three) and should be available soon They plan to release 2 devices; one for all classic versions (original, patch and mariko) and one for the Switch Lite.

Third Point: I really pushed for a release date, but TX refused to confirm anything during our meeting. From what I understood, even though it seems to be currently under production, because all sorts of things can occur in the factory during production, they will not commit to a date to me or their resellers until they are certain they can deliver on time enough stock to meet the demand.

I guess I can only respect that, this is probably why they did not announce anything yet, and we should know more once it is finally officially announced on their TX website.

I remember when SX OS Pro first came out, and I waited until they actually started shipping, but by then there was such a long backlog because I had not pre-ordered. I had to wait almost a month to actually get it. I won't be making that mistake twice

They said Switch Lite solution coming soon, who knows if they are bluffing or not, as they might try to boost the original SX OS sales to get people excited. There isn't pre order yet.

I got the license only , because customes takes forever here , and while everybody else enter on rcm with just a clip it took me forever and try over and over again until I could enter with tin foil , from that time I set it up to auto rcm :-)

You really think a software method will come out that doesnt require sitting on a particular firmware forever? Im personally not convinced at all. In fact I would put money that team executor if they do release a method to hack the switch lite, it going to be hardware based like pretty much 95% of their older projects.

Most of you won't be able to do this without help because it's an internal mod chip that requires soldering. It is different hardware, so of course it's not going to be a free upgrade. They're not charging extra for the new OS update, as far as I can tell.

I really doubt it. This is the iron I use. I also recommend getting a smaller tip. This is the tip I use. You can find irons on Amazon for under 10 bucks that probably work fine, but I've never used those before. If you don't have any experience, you should probably find someone in your area to help you.
