TX Presents SX OS v2.9 BETA - With Full v9.0 Firmware Support!

NEW UPDATE FIXES UPGRADE ISSUES!

PLEASE USE V2.9.1b INSTEAD OF 2.9

YOU CAN NOW USE CHOIDUJOURNX 1.0.2 WITH 2.9.1b

**********************************************

Good day, fans and believers! We hope you are all having a good weekend.

SXOS29.png

Team-Xecuter has done it again, they have updated their world-famous SX OS to now support the latest v9.0 Switch firmware from Nintendo.
Today, we bring you a much needed update of SX OS. Full compatibility with the latest Switch firmware 9.0! Sorry that we kept you waiting, we wanted to make sure all our unique features still properly work.

Additionally, we also introduced support for the "Horizon split format". This means that people who use FAT32 can have folders named 'game.xci' with split parts contained therein (named 00, 01, 02, etc.). Make sure the folder has the 'archive' bit set.

We know you are waiting for some other big features in SX OS, they are coming.. We wanted to get this compatibility update out first though.

So what are you waiting for? SX OS 2.9 beta is available for download on our website now! (and also through the builtin online updater part of SX OS.)

You can't even enter RCM? Sounds more like a battery issue. Plug it in to the charger and wait a couple of hours and see you can enter RCM afterwards.

I can get into the RCM.
But thats all unfortunately :(

it all ends in a black screen (either after nintendo logo OFW (sysnand) - or after the atmo logo CFW)

Nintendo logo ive had even without booting sx os, but its not exactly a brick is it.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

And having cfw with a third party app to install nsp doesnt do that.

If your legit then you have no reson for cfw, if you play the games you buy.

If you want to use the excuse emulation the switch is pretty decent but its already available on your smart devices and performs better.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Right.
Maybe you should change your forum title to "TX Pirate" if you automatically assume that CFW is ONLY for playing ripped games.

:)

After the whole semi brick to my Emunand here's what I did to get back up and running...

1)Updated Switch Nand to 9.0 via Nintendo update
2) Deleted Corrupt/Bricked Emunand on 8.1 via sx os using 2.81 and also deleted all data on memory card (Fat32 still present)
3) Created Fresh Emunand 9.0 on sx os
4) Turned off Switch and deleted 2.81 and replaced with 2.9 boot
5) Booted up perfect emunand
6) Start from scratch installing all my games again

I backed up my entire micro sd card before doing all of the above so I can re use a couple of my check point saves.

Hope this helps anybody else.

Long story short.... lesson learnt ! Read around first before doing anything even though you have done a firmware update before with no issues.

For anyone considering buying SX OS, I do not recommend it until all issues with the latest update are properly fixed. Do not upgrade your Switch to version 9.0.0. It was definitely a big disrespect for their consumers to release such a problematic version of SX OS and say it has full compatibility with 9.0.0 firmware version.

Or don't buy it at all. It's clear they are not even tryinjg anymore if they introduce new bugs while copying Atmosphere code.

I just updated and everything is working except for playing new XCI files such as Zelda Links Awakening so I just used the NSP no biggie. All my older XCI before the update work just fine.

Thanks for the hard work and great update SX!

Shame how some people are just on here bitching like little kids. Every upgrade isn't promised 100% compatibility so these kids really need to let that sink into their thin skulls.

well I tried that
But I can’t format the SD file (write protected I don’t know why?)
And I only get 32 gig out of 200 gig as space (fat32)

is there a hidden partition or something like that?
That sounds like a fake mSD or some crap might have locked up the mSD or your PC might have virus, try other mSD reader...

My brother has got a few mSD that are write protected and I tried many apps and the bastards don't let getting formatted no matter what PC (other thing for example is my father has a USB card reader and on his one all the bigger SD are write protected while on my laptop or USB card reader they work fine so it probably got bad or some pin got kaput inside or maybe just the notch that reads the side protection of the bigger SD...).

And you do get a hidden partition if you create the emunand as partition instead of just files with SX OS, it's way easier to backup as files since it's just files, however the partition also has a big advantage since it uses nintendo file system and prevents exFat corruption on "normal use", but I'm sure the partition would be a copy of the original nand so I don't think a 200GB mSD would only show 32GB free (though I never tried it, I only used Fat32 for 1st emunand install since my console is on 3.02 then update emunand with choidujour and add exFat support then I backup the files and format the mSD as exFat and always use it as exFat even though my sysnand has no exFat support)...

I had this happen to me multiple times. That sd card partition gets F*** up.. I always manage to fix this. At least 99%.

I assume you use windows 10.

1.Right click on windows symbol.
2.Chose disk managment.
3. Find your sd card
4. Right click on what is your sd card.
5. Delete partition
6. After job done, right click on in again and chose format...

Now it should allocate full disk space

If not try try to command line..
Search disk part and run as admin

Then list disk
Then select disk (number of you sd card)
Then type clean. And press enter

After that close and for back to disk managment and try again

Sorry 4 my poorly English writing
Sadly that worked 0% of the times I tried for my brother's mSD's lol, I also tried registry modding, apps, lot of crap and they got completely locked, nothing allows me to format them, neither forcing.

I also tried fixing a USB pen drive from a friend in the same condition and no luck no matter what, but anyway he was so dumb to buy it on a Chinese store and even paid like double the price of an actual electronics store from here lol dumb...

However I my self never had that problem with any mSD, SD or USB pen drive even my super old 256MB usb pen drive is still fully working even though is a bit rusted...

You can always update emunand to 9.0 with choidujour by using SX OS 2.8 and then after its done replace the SX OS 2.8 with 2.9 (boot.dat) even though there seem to be more bugs with 2.9, but it will work with FW 9.0 that way and anyway TX will soon make a FW upgrading tool (at least its said somewhere on this thread).

You don't exactly need it like said a million times if you can't live without 9.0, just use SX OS 2.8 and choidujour to update emunand to 9.0 then replace Boot.dat with SX OS 2.9 and should boot to 9.0...

Almost as if there's a subtle but still-discernible difference between "not 100% compatibility" and "fucking up paying customers' systems left and right".

Give @blawar a break, he doesn't have time to provide what was promised and solve users' problems while he's busy defending his ever-more hostile and convoluted DRM.

Kept you waiting huh.

Hey hows xci support, xci/nsp installation going for atmos or other cfw.

Still waiting huh

:D
Just popping in to say that atmosphere can install NSP and also XCI by converting to NSP. SX Installer is literally just a modified version of Tinfoil, which we have access to in atmosphere. You are correct about loading XCI files without installing however.

actually, SX OS has less functions
the only thing that you will lose is xci loading, but you can install your XCIs
and it's as intuitive, if you have a bad time setting up atmosphere, there're websites that do that for you
For example, in atmosphere you have more stability/updates, kip/custom sys modules loading, you can actually enter the captures/videos album, and a lot more
There's also ReiNX

and if you don't wanna switch because you paid for SX OS, I did too and I switched anyway, don't be afraid

Is there a way in atmosphere to install xci without converting it to nsp? I use both cfw and i will leave sxos permanently if i can install xcis directly to atmosphere.

I believe tinfoil does it, which is what SX installer is based off (in fact it's the same dev that works on SX installer). I may be wrong though, but I'm fairly certain some of the NSP installers also handle XCI installs.
