gametdb.GetTitle is different. It should get the <title> tag. For ex. <title>Smurfs, The</title> when locale is english.
gameTDB.GetName gets <game name=..., here Smurfs, The

Ah ok, if you use serials it shouldn't be too slow.

Not sure you need to disable titles from xml. When found, the titles are most of the times better. And since you let the ability to use custom then real filenames that seems ideal.
But yeah, you could make everyone happy and create an option for those who rename all their games.

Im confused. So now you dont like it? Whats it doing wrong? Please explain.

I think the new build works great. For me, I have around 400 games of each NES, SNES, MD, GB(A), 200 games of TG16, Sega Master, Atari 2600 etc...I have all my games titled the way I like which took some time. Example would be (Battle of Olympus,The) where I have (Battle Of Olympus) or (Castlevania 2 - Simon's Quest) where I have (Castlevania II - Simon's Quest). Just small things that I had already fixed to my liking, there are others that are a little more eye popping for me like (Blue Shadow) which is (Shadow Of The Ninja). It's all preference i suppose which is why if someone used roms from No-Intro or GoodSet without changing rom name, this is perfect. It really boils down to, do I want to custom title Arcade games from previous Beta or custom title Console games using latest update. Anyhow, it's all preference as i said before and i meant nothing negative. Thanks @fledge68

no harm, be sure to check out my last post with an updated boot.dol. seems i was getting the titles the wrong way. wiimpathy pointed that out and i fixed it. well at least now Titles don't follow the no intro naming convention. so the's are at the beginning again.
but i understand you changed the filenames to your liking so the xml titles might not be to your liking. at least you can use custom_titles.ini.
note i was planning on making custom_titles easier to edit. I was also thinking of a way to have wiiflow output a text file with a list of all the current games (filename = title) or (ID = title). but just ideas for now.

That would be outstanding! I check in almost on a daily basis, so I usually don't miss much. I'll keep my eyes open if anything materializes. Thanks

I believe you put the txt file in wiiflow/codes folder. Then run wiiflow and select the game. Go into settings and choose your cheats and be sure to enable ocarina.
Alright, I'll try that! Just one more question though, I added Super Mario Sluggers (Mario Baseball game), and I don't see it in Wiiflow Lite!

Hey dude, I got a new game, now how do I open it without Wiiflow Lite's File Explorer? I don't see it on the Home Menu where the games are, in Wiiflow Lite!

Any time you add a new game you need to go to home menu and select reload cache.
The cover menu is not the home menu. Home menu is where you find reload cache.

Is there a file I can edit on a computer to add games to a category, instead of having to use WiiFlow's UI to do so?

Is there a file I can edit on a computer to add games to a category, instead of having to use WiiFlow's UI to do so?

For what system exactly...NES, Sega Genesis, MAME?

https://gbatemp.net/attachments/wiiflow_mame_titles-zip.179280/

@Wiimpathy made this available for all MAME games. If your game isn't there, it probably doesn't work.^^^^^

USB>wiiflow>settings>custom_titles.ini

This is the file you need to custom title or Add a title for any game for any system. For Wii, GC, WiiWare, VC games, all custom titles or adds must be under [Titles]. For everything else (Consoles, Computer, Arcade) you must have the magic#. This is an example of a NES rename or add...

To each category corresponds an ascii character in categories_lite.ini file. It starts at code 33, the exclamation mark and ends at code 52, the number 4.
Look at ascii table, printable characters : https://www.ascii-code.com/

Here's the characters correspondence with categories_lite.ini :

[GENERAL]
cat1=Action !
cat10=Sports *
cat11=Strategy +
cat12=Traditional ,
cat13=Theme -
cat14=ESRB: Early Childhood .
cat15=ESRB: Everyone /
cat16=ESRB: Everyone 10+ 0
cat17=ESRB: Teen 1
cat18=ESRB: Mature 2
cat19=ESRB: Adults Only 3
cat2=Adventure "
cat20=Non-English 4
cat3=Fighting #
cat4=General $
cat5=Health %
cat6=Music &
cat7=Racing '
cat8=Role Playing (
cat9=Simulation )

For example, let's put the following game in Adventure and ESRB: Everyone categories :

hatari/zak mckracken and the alien mindbenders="/

I wish the category system was a bit more flexible and easier too. That'd also be great if we could use existing data for emulator's games. The default categories aren't so good either for this type of games. All the ESRB or even General for instance...
By the way, I don't remember but is it possible to have custom categories for plugins @fledge68 ?
I mean different cat names, cat9=Shoot'em up etc.

Yes categories work for plugins and can have custom names. Btw when setting categories for a game you can press + or - to go to the next or previous game without having to go back all the time.
