Hacking Help Setting up 2018 R4 SDHC Dual-Core Smart Update

Ordered and just received a R4 SDHC Dual Core Smart Update card from nds-card, and i can’t get the proper kernel to work. I’ve downloaded the correct file per the site (R4i-V3.9b English), see the only four files at the root I’m supposed to see, and I keep getting a “can’t open_dsmenu.dat”. Am I missing a step?

Also, the main reason I’m doing this is to have access to my GBA saves to insert the Mystery Gifts into Pokémon GBA games. I’ve seen that those tools are supposed to be on the root of the R4 micro SD, but the instructions for setting up the R4 say only those files go there. Should I finally get this R4 card working, where will I place the GBA Save Tool files?

Tried the YSMenu/RetroGameFan files and still have the same error. Tried some older files and nada. I’ve reached out to r4ishdc.com to see if they can help, too. I guess last ditch I’ll reach out to nds-card for a refund or something, cause this is worthless to me if I can’t get it working. :/

Your cart isn't 'r4ishdc.com'. It's 'r4ishdc.com.CN'. 'r4isdhc.com' carts are DSTT clones and 'r4isdhc.com.cn' carts are Ace3DS clones.
