I have strange question. I have EmuNand on my sd card, and correctly setted all things, all working quite good. But I just noticed, that HOS show wrong amount of free space on my SD card, but in file explorers, it show correct ammount. So my question is what will happen to SD card, IF i try to format it in HOS. Should it delete all information including my EmuNand, or where is some kind of security to prevent this, and all card will be formatted expect EmuNand ? Or maybe where is other way to fix wrong free space in HOS ?

Im looking into general emulation of other systems, considering a Vita but wondering what can a Switch emulate?
Its an extensive list from what I remember so I can only list the ones I know off the top of my head such as GBA, DS, PS1, N64, and PSP.

My factory fw was 3.1.0 and I have a clean NAND backup of it.
I already can't use retail carts on emuNAND because GC is enabled.
How does having different fw between sys and emu prevent downgrading?
It has nothing to do with emuMMC and sysMMC being on different firmware versions. If you update sysMMC to 9.0, you will not be able to boot it up without burning fuses hence not being able to downgrade.

Not sure if anyone will know about this. But I have a 400GB card and yet it appears kind of small. Is there a way to clean unused/not necessary files or something? Like a cleaning homebrew out there or a way to just clean my card and get some memory back.

Hey guys

So I am about to update my switch to FW 9.0, but before I do, i'd like to confirm something. Is there any reason why I should STILL try to avoid burning my fuses, if my burned fuse count is already up to 9 (FW 8.0.1)? I guess I am asking if there is still ANY hope of a software exploit, and I think I know the answer, but would like to double check.

I've already failed this guide https://gbatemp.net/threads/an-easy...ch-firmware-without-burning-any-fuses.511847/ twice, so I really don't see a point in trying a third time, unless there is still meaning in preserving my fuses.

Don't even bother updating to firmware 9.0 has it breaks a lot more stuff even once CFW supports it namely homebrew applications. And ChoiDujour only supports up to firmware 6.1

When sad card get full, in hos in show 0 gb free, but in explorer it is 24, also on pc. So I clearly have 24 gb free. What I need to do, to clear it up? Maybe need to delete some folder/file ? I hope it possible! Because I do not want to install custom from scratch, have everything seated up.

Thanks man, but 9.0 breaking CFW is not a concern of mine at all right now. I just need to know if there is a point in trying to upgrade without burning fuses (chance of potential software exploit with my current FW ), or if the chance is so ridiculously low, that I might aswell just upgrade and burn fuses.

That depends on what you consider low. The chance is not zero is all we can really say. Another way of looking at it is that there are no advantages burning fuses versus not burning fuses. You have all to gain with nothing to lose.

Hi folks,
So I put Atmosphere CFW on my Switch a few weeks ago in order to edit my FE 3H save. I use a physical cartridge and also bought the dlc. Since yesterday a new wave of DLC has been released by Nintendo and I'd love to download it. Is it safe to boot up my Switch in sysNAND and update the DLC, then remove the internet connection and go back to the emuMMC? Or do I have to install the update of the game via .nsp or something? Thank you for your help!

Well, when you put it like that, I guess I really have nothing to lose. I have my doubts that I can get it working, but i'll try the guide one more time and see if I can make it work anyway. Thanks

Im starting to hack my switch, and the guide says that i need to download an aplication like youtube or hulu.
But i cant do that, because eshop asks me to make a system update.

Any help?

If all CFW & homebrew was performed in emuMMC up until this point and/or your sysMMC is clean, then you can boot up sysMMC safely and download the DLC.

You can skip that step for now. You can simply pirate an application once CFW and homebrew are setup.

Ok, atmosphere and hekate running.
Now i have two questions.

Is there a guide to install nsp over the computer?
The switch automatically downloaded the system update while it was on stock sysnand(i did not update), is there a way to eliminate this update?

There is no "guide" as there are multiple title installers and even more programs for installing .NSP files via USB. I personally use Aluminum Foil with Tinfoil. As for deleting the update, simply enter Maintenance Mode. Nintendo even has a guide for entering it but just do not do step 3. Simply entering this mode will remove the downloaded system update but be sure to remove Wi-Fi settings before entering Maintenance Mode otherwise the update will be downloaded again.

I think im in the right place. I certainly feel noobish when it comes to switch hacking and modding.

I got my switch off ebay. It can running with 7.0.1 ofw. serial xaw1004 ( i know shame they ever updated it). I followed the guide on the first post to mod it and it was a success. My problem is two things.
I never linked a nintendo account because by the time i got my switch the newest firmware was past mine so it wouldnt let me. Now, i got games asking for it and i cant run them. How do i go about correcting this situation. mind you im new to this and afraid ill mess up my switch so something very detailed would be nice. everything i find online is barebones if they even say its possible.

my second problem is updating my firmware. I got some games that just refuse to run like torchlight II and ssbu. would updating my firmware fix this or is there something else wrong causing them to crash?

from what I've read, there's a "bypass firmware requirement" feature built into an app or cfw (not sure which it is).

there's a way to hex out that requirement. I think it's just one byte. however, you'd have to do that for every game. a work around -- not sure. I know linking an account works, but as far as making an account when you need to be on the latest firmware, I'm not sure. I didn't even know you had to be, but I guess that makes sense. that's how sony does it. you can make an account on their website, but in order to activate it (obtain an account id), you have to sign in at least once.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

oh, I just remembered something. I think you can activate your account by using kefir. it erases all saves or at least makes them not work, so back those up first. that's about all I know about the subject seeing as how I don't own a switch. it's just based on memory.
