Any chance to get a (next) version with the checks removed?
Yes. Strange you should mention size checks...

V1.4.4 coming

Cleaned up browser file selection

New "Advanced Restore" section... This will be disabled by default as this is a very dangerous option. You will have to go into options menu and enable it.
  • Skip all size checks
  • Browse to your individual partitions (from different locations if necessary) - Restore ANY partition from ANY location on SD.
  • Support for SXOS rawnands (exfat and multiple part) should work too. Indeed any rawnand.

Plus more stuff enabled / squashed / optimised for stack space limitations.

Was going to include writing a new gpt(for big emmcs). However, thought I had my head round it - turnsout I have missed a load of safety checks so that isn`t included for now. Won`t fit in the stack in its current form anyway.

Actually did it over a week ago and forgot I spent a whisky-fuelled night messing with stuff. Only remembered when I found v1.4.4 on drive... <puzzled>

Bit more stuff to do then I`ll make UF2s.

Tomorrow maybe if I get this head gasket / valve stem oil seals in quick enough (not relavent). Got work coming out of my ears at the moment so not been "devving / hacking" much.

Hi @mattytrog,

I don't know if you knew it, but there's a new version of the RCMX86, a black chip named VB.

The designer says that it's the same as a Trinket M0.

I was thinking of changing my old RCMX86 for the new version without the IC USB controller.

Is there a new version of yours UF2 for that chip?. This new one doesn't need the extra voltage to disable the IC Logic.

Should I change my wire setup and use the Trinket M0 UF2 version?

Here is the link for the new VB version :
https://github.com/euclala/RCM-X86/blob/master/README.md

Thanks!

I have a weird issue.

I think that maybe just my joycon pin is soldered wrong.

I am using a trinket m0.

Ground is soldered from Gnd to the alternative ground near the switch battery wire.
Usb wires are in the normal location.
vol+ is soldered to point 0.
3 volt is on the underside of the nand chip
Point 3 on trinket is soldered to pin 10 on the physical joycon rail.

I can not figure out how to use the trinket to enter RCM.
the data wires, ground, and 3v are working because I can update the trinket UF2 from the usb-c port on the switch.
The vol+ is working because when I press it, the trinket has a red led turn on.

The means there must be something wrong with the joycon strap.
I am using the tiny gauge magnetic wire for this one.
I tried:
All three joycon strap points and trimming the magnetic wire shorter.

The only way I can enter RCM is to pull the nand, and after power on and reinsert, I am greeted with hekate pushed by the trinket.

Any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong?

Nevermind, I just replaced with a thicker wire and now it works. Weird.

Hi,

Last time I visited this thread, I got
Simple UF2 Universal Hekate491 V099r4 onto my NS-Atomsphere dongle.
But now I completely lost.
Is my dongle still supported by this thread's new development?
If so, how do I update the dongle to this newest firmware?

Thank you.

V1.5.0 uploaded. v9.0.0 firmwarer support plus other stuff. I decided to scrap v1.4.4 as it wasn`t finished and I didn`t get time to finish it.

Sorry I haven`t been active recently! There is a VERY good reason. I haven`t forgotten, or abandoned this AT ALL.

Had work coming out of my ears. A car to recomission and prepare for MOT (British annual inspection).

Very very chaotic time.

I`m that behind, consoles are taking a week plus to turn around. But I`m working hard, not forgetting anyone. Just playing catchup amongst other things. There is only me here! No employees or anything. And I`m getting older and slower.

Really really apologise for not updating or being on lately. My inbox has 100 billion messages which I haven`t been through yet.

Sorry. I haven`t been lazy. Just spread myself too thin!

Hello, I've got a little question.

Someone mod my Switch, and i want to reprogram the trinket to use any payload easely.
So I open my switch and there is some picture of the cabling :

https://www.dropbox.com/s/mzj7duliaqukpmk/20190917_192048.jpg?dl=0

Do you think this file (this is the config i want) will work ?
Trinket M0
Part 1 - DUAL-BOOT (modified UF2 bootloader)
Part 2 - Fusee UF2 latest (payload.bin launcher)

Thanks a lot

@mattytrog i was out of the loop for a while and now i'm gonna put my hands on the switch again.
i have the oldest RCMX86 (the one with the volume problem with both straps connected,so you had to mod the chip pin connection config and edit the flash file), with one of the first release and the most basic config: power on with auto cfx load, and power+switch on the chip to load ofw.
q1: i'm still on 6.2+sxox and i want to update to latest (8.x). can i keep the chip fw as is or i need to upgrade it (because hekate needs an update)?
q2: if an update is required, which file i need? and will it break again the chip volume buttons?
thanx

Just use the RCMX86 version in the OP. Using the same pinout as we originally decided all those months ago.

The USB logic chip now disconnects USB by pulling the EN high just before sleep.

But yep. You are good to go.

OK. It doesn`t look like you have the volume strap fitted. So unless you use autoRCM, you will be dual-boot only.

Looks like it is following my wiring convention. So yes, you should be good to go sir!

i've just updated with latest rcm uf2 (fusee):if sd is not loaded i get unable to load payload.bin and it shuts off.
with my oldest firmware if sd was not inserted hekate menu would pop up. am i missing something (maybe flashing switchboot uf2 would be enough)?

Yes. Fusee is a payload.bin launcher. Switchboot is the full Herkate mod.

You choose one.
