Hello there,

Sorry if there a thread concerning this but I'm a little confused and need your help.

I have a FFXV original disc and have installed it on my PS4 5.05. For playing I need to insert disc, normal.

I have installed an old update and want to play in 1.02 version, so that's the reason I want to keep this setup.

I would like to play without the Disc, so I have dumped the game and build a PKG with Fake PKG Generator but I cannot load my save because of the passcode set to "00000..."

So, is it possible to create a Retail .PKG with our own "passcode" so I can safely archive my original games ?

Thanks for your help ! :-)

Thanks for your feedbacks !

I have tried the Gui version (Add Keystone GUI v0.2) but for an unknown reason It give an error message when injecting "sc.exe missing or invalid"... I have take files from Fake PKG Generator to make it work, that's strange !

So saves are working that's a good new !

Do I need to to do the same for the update file as well ? I think I have read somewhere that the updates files doesn't need to be "injected"

Edit: I cannot load my save because the game is "seen" as version 1.00 by the console, and I have check with PS4 Package Viewer It's normally an 1.02 version... What I am doing wrong ?

Thanks :-)

See video at 4.13 mark on how to fix your error message.

In regards to game update. I'm unsure but do you have the 1.02 update dumped as a fpkg. When you dump a game you have the option to dump both game & update separetley.

Yes thanks for this, that's that I found :-)

for Dumping I have let the options by default so I have dumped game + update separatly, that's weird because the file for the game in PKG in named "EP0082-CUSA01615_00-FINALFANTASYXV00-A0100-V0102" I will try to delete the updat and start dumping again but it's weird no ?

Edit: I have dumped the game without installing any updates and it give me sames files in version 1.02, don't understand why...

EP0082-CUSA01615_00-FINALFANTASYXV00-A0100-V0102:
This means that the game comes with 1.02 update already installed on the disc. Press options buttons on your game icon on ps4 menu & there should be a tab for update history to verify what update version is installed.

You can only dump a update if it's manually installed via psn or through debug settings. In regards to the keystone there is reports of update files causing corruption with game saves. One fix was to dump both game & update together instead of separately but there is not much information around since people have moved on from ps4 scene.

I have installed the PKG and no tab for update history, the console show v 1.00 so I don't understand why the file generated has "V0102" in his name...The size is ~42 GB
However after installing update v1.02, I have update history and size is 53 GB.

So for converting the update file, I mas forced to rename the *.PKG to "V0100" otherwise FPKG Generator doesn't wante to create the FPKG file ^^'

I will try with another to see if it's the same result...

For a higher update, I try to update both game and update to avoid corrupted file, but I will backup them first by ftp in case of !

And when you said that people has moved on from PS4 scene, it's because that the scene seems to be dead ?

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
