Anyone know if openGL 3 works? When I boot up a game in dolphin I get an error. Vulkan works, just doesn't work well. Analog works with the joycon fix.
I've now read that opengl doesnt work for Dolphin on the Switch. Reason unknown. :) Vulkan should be faster anyhow, tough. :)

edit: Tested Dolphin_5.0-10648_MMJ.apk on Switch, speed is roughly 60% in Paper Mario 2 (in handheld) at max power profile setting so still far removed from fullspeed.

(Lakka probably runs a little better, although the game wasnt fullspeed there either, as far as I remember. Killer 7 (PAL) was though. Pikmin was as well (still speaking about Lakka. :) ) - so it depends on the game.)

Played a little more with Dolphin on Android. Get version Dolphin_5.0-9494_V18_MMJ.apk from https://github.com/weihuoya/dolphin/releases

(Is a little more performant than the official releases, has more settings options than the newer more current release on that github page (you can install both in parallel). Set the rederer to Vulkan.

For games that dont run fullspeed you can use stretch audio in Dolphin settings to make them a little more playable. (Increases input lag.)

if you want to play games (like Killer 7) in 16:9, set aspect ratio to force 16:9, widescreen hack on, and image scale to 120% - then you get fullscreen 16:9 with only a little of the screen clipped off (in PAL versions).

Killer 7 is playable in the balanced Android profile with only minor framedrops - if you use a higher battery profile - it runs full speed basically all the time.

All in all performance seems to be similar as in Lakka - which means, that Pikmin should run fullspeed as well. But most Gamecube games will not. :)

edit: And then of course the analog stick isnt analog, so Killer 7 is unplayable. :)

Has anyone managed to figure out how to get mics working through the headphone port?

I ask because my phone is broken and until I get a new one, I'm using switch android as my daily driver, but I cannot make or take calls in whatsapp :/

@All:
1. Does Switchroot Android pass SafetyNet checks?
2. If yes: Did anyone try Pokémon GO? Is it playable?
It passes the basic integrity but not the other one - ctsprofile. I don't know how hard people have tried to get that one to pass with magisk tweaks etc, or if it's currently impossible.

Totally possible but there are many things to check besides that actually...

Awesome as always! That's what I wanted! Thx man!

Edit: Does it bite itself with that shildify thing we can flash after initial Android setup to use all nvidia features and games?

this doesn't break nvidia games but i have no clue if it will make what you need work. The whole switch as a shield thing is mega confusing and I think the best option is to have both. Basically anything that doesnt work you would take the shield files and just manually copy them over. Some things work some just don't. For me a shield is not an option so i learned all this the hard way.

Could you try out Pokémon GO after passing the SafetyNet check? :)

Every app (Google Play store especially) either takes forever to load then asks me to wait or close it, and it takes at least 10 to 15 to just start up... Is this my SD cards fault? I went with the 64gb image but I really don't need that much, would the 32 at least be faster?

The speed of your drive isn't directly connected to its size. UHS-3 is the affordable speed you probably want, and Samsung is a pretty good name. I've heard that it also helps to use more minimal versions of gapps like pico or nano, but you have to start over with a clean image if you didn't before. (and then NOT restore a backup like I stupidly did...)

It literally took me a week to finally get LineageOS to boot at a constant rate (ish). If you're SD card is at the least "branded", and given that you followed the instructions well, which I'm sure you did since you've got it to boot lol, you should expect good. Try reinstalling GAPPS again, I never reflashed but I constantly had to delete/repair/replace GAPPS. Also side note I am indeed using the 32gb image. Good luck man. Friendly tip, even when you get things going and things seem awesome, don't buy games. License verification is failing and Switchroot didn't give the warning.

*waiting in silence until smartphone users have found out that a sdcards size or brand have nothing to do with its speed*

*waiting in silence until smartphone users have found out, that read errors, usually come from your sdcard being fake or broken*

Also afair there was an odd issue with etcher and some sdcards being too fast, which could result in a write issue - so maybe verify what etcher has written on the card - or try googling that - im not sure what fixed the issue. (But I think it was fixed already.)

Smartphones can also actually use their internal storage, the SD writing speed isn't nearly as critical there.
Also if you buy 'very fast' sdcard storage, the switchs sdcard slot will bottleneck it (digital foundry read speed tests). So currently somewhat choppy performance it is. That might change with the next Switchroot Android release (different file system) or not. :)

It isnt the brand, and it isnt the card size.

It might be card speed and an incompatibility with etcher. Or a fake card.

"So I hear it is my 128 GB Sandisk Card then, is it proper to buy Samsung then, and should I.." Logic master class.

I have a Samsung 64GB Evo Plus card (14 USD currently) and no issues (except for the general choppyness (navigating the OS, not in games) that everyone complains about.) But you dont need to buy a specific brand, or a specific card size.

If write speed is essential then you might be right.

Read speed is capped - as per digital foundries testing
h**ps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbItTEmozxw

UHS-1 Grade 3 seems like a 'sweet spot' then, the answer to the question if even faster writing speeds would lead to less choppy performance - still seems to be no.

14USD for 64GB (10USD used) also seem affordable enough, for people not wanting to look for slower cards because of price/performance.

Reading up it seems it could be because Im using a 128gb Sandisk, is it worth getting a 64gb Samsung?
If you're 100% your card is just not taking the hint, I would make the purchase. To be honest I have loved the experience so I encourage anyone to keep trying. I only recommend constant tampering because even following the steps to the fine point, I ran into 5 different issues until it finally figured itself out after like the 7the reinstall. Latest issue that fixed itself was that the OS would only boot after my 4th try injecting hekate, running switchroot, now it boots on the 1st some times the second. Gplay issues resolved about the 5th reinstall. Potentially pointless info but I hope to keep you encouraged lol.
