Hello, my name’s Alberto; Brazilian;
I’m 21 years old, have two formations:
technologist in `Digital Games` of Estácio University and post- graduate in `Art for Games`, which I just finished now, at `Méliès` art college!
I play games, lots of them (Mario; Zelda; DOOM; Sonic; Half-Life; Portal; GTA; Mega Man; Super Smash. Bros, etc), but I find making to be more interesting than playing.
I like to code and have been a C++ contributor to Blender; have my local fork of the program; enhanced some VS Code extensions and think `open game decompilations` are the final boss, that all of this is just the warmup.
My fixations and special interests, are all kinds of video-games! It’s a hyper-fixation, I eat games, sleep code and breathe character design 24/7!
Have been a longtime Blender user, for 6 years and counting, to make fun personal projects, love making and 3D sculpting characters;
What captivated me permanently was the procedural node system, particularly `Geometry Nodes`, as we are witnessing the birth of this “visual programming language”.
I posses a whole custom fork and IDE setup of local Blender with `clangd`; building script helpers, which I merge all the changes done to `main` daily.
It started with a few small changes, which got merged, then it developed to a custom fork of refactoring the float `Math` node for using storage, with the sole goal of inlining the UI sockets of it, I learned an immense amount of the program’s internals, but I’m at VS Code daily, since there’s no shortage for me to learn;
Occasionally I also put Blender (my super-powered lab rat), into Sourcetrail, too, for static code analysis.
It’s nice to finally be inside a long-time bastion of fan-homebrew community and start learning proper video-game development! Pleasure to meet you all!
