Hello everybody,

I want to inject a payload on my switch. Do I need a sd card inside my switch for it?

I inject a payload for my switch (RCM mode), for the frist time TegraRcmGUI says "successfully injected payload" but nothing happens on my switch (black screen).

When I try it for the second time, TegraRcmGUI freezes and nothing happens.

Thank you :)

I tried to inject Fuse Gelee and Hekate. Nothing happens :(

Hi!

I've got sysMMC on 5.0.2 and created a emuMMC with the same firmware version. I want to install the latest firmware on the emuMMC but can't find info on some questions I have:

1. If I enable emuMMC on Hekate, and then enable autoRCM, will the boot partition that gets changed be the one on the sd card or I'll have dirtied my sysNAND?

2. Using ChoiDujourNX to upgrade my firmware on emuMMC, turning on autoRCM there will screw with the boot partition on sysNAND or on the sd card?

Thanks!

The only effective AutoRCM (one that causes your Switch to coldboot into RCM) is installed to the sysNAND. AutoRCM is not currently detectable in Horizon and should not dirty your sysNAND.

2. Using ChoiDujourNX to upgrade my firmware on emuMMC, turning on autoRCM there will screw with the boot partition on sysNAND or on the sd card?
There is no reason to turn it on when updating your emuNAND/emuMMC. It won't install to the sysNAND. To install AutoRCM, it should be done from Hekate.

What's the safest way to dual boot nand and emunand emummc? ARe all the bugs worked out or should I wait first? I have an unpatched with NAND backup at 3.0 should I go to 8.1 first ?

I could use some help figuring out my save editing issues

I'm trying to save edit and I'm having trouble. When homebrew first came out for the Switch I could save edit no problem, but I ran homebrew on sysnand (on different switch, edited Splatoon 2 as well and it's still not banned lol)

New switch, clean sysnand (and backed up). I'm running homebrew on emunand, using Checkpoint it backup/restore the save. I edit the save (file isn't corrupt, changes were saved properly) , restore it using Checkpoint, reboot to sysnand, boot the game, but it only detects the original unedited save file. The edited save file and put into the correct folder and no errors when restoring it. Any idea what's wrong? This has been driving me nuts for days lol.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? This has been driving me crazy for days. I'm more bugged about the fact that I can't get it to work after trying to troubleshoot and trying different things for so long.

You would have to restore the save file on your sysNAND for it to be on your sysNAND. Doing so comes with two ban risks: one for using Checkpoint, and one for using a modified save file online.

Dang, that's what I was afraid of. I had considered doing just that seeing as my other switch didn't get banned, but I'm just a rare case and Ninty has definitely stepped it up. And the save file is for a game strictly offline.

If all you do is boot Atmosphere with no extra patches and load Checkpoint, you probably won't be banned, but it's still your risk to take.

As for modifying your save file, I don't recommend it. If it's minimal edits that are completely legal, you might not be banned, but I can't give you any odds.

Hi everyone,

I recently installed CFW on my switch using the switch.homebrew.guide website. Everything was going well until I got to the Launch CFW step because the guide didn't have any information about picking between sysNAND and emuNAND. After reading a bit more I picked emuNAND and everything seemed to go fine.

But here's the problem, I never did anything to setup emuNAND using Hekate. Does that mean I really ended up booting into sysNAND, even though that isn't the option I picked? Furthermore, after doing that I booted into stock and disabled 90DNS so I could archive and reinstall games onto that SD card, played a game then re-enabled 90DNS planning to reboot into CFW but decided not to.

So if I made my sysNAND dirty, then I would guess info has already been sent to Nintendo and I'm not sure, but does that mean I can't flash the backup I made at the very beginning? Obviously I screwed up, but I'm not banned yet (as far as I know) and I want to try and keep it that way.

My main question is: Did I boot into emmuNAND despite not explicitly setting it up, and if not, what is the best thing for me to do now?

Thanks
If you didn't setup emuMMC, then you cannot boot into emuMMC. And if you already went online while running CFW, you cannot restore your clean NAND backup anymore as it will not match the data Nintendo stores on their server.

What's the safest way to dual boot nand and emunand emummc? ARe all the bugs worked out or should I wait first? I have an unpatched with NAND backup at 3.0 should I go to 8.1 first ?
While all of the bugs haven't been worked out yet, some people have had hassle-free installations of emuMMC. I am not sure what you mean by safest but Hekate is a much better option for booting emuMMC than Fusee.

Oh yeah definitely. In this case I'm editing FF7 (simple stuff, no dev only/normally impossible), so it's all offline and I'd assume it's a lot safer than editing MK8D for example to unlock all carts, even if you edit your playtime, drifts, win/lost etc. to match. The only reason I'm not just playing it on my other switch is because I actually want the option to play online while I'm out and about on sysnand without carrying 2 switchs.

Thanks much for the reply.

I finished the emummc part of this guide (https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/) and I was able to set up a separate 256gb memory card (properly partitioned as recommended) and got atmosphere running (with the ams beside the firmware number).

1. The switch wouldn't boot up if I launch the wrong option at the launch menu of hekate right? Are there other confirmations that the switch is running on emunand?

2. While in emunand and always offline, anything I do to it will not affect my ofw sysnand right? I can start deleting all the previous titles and make room for more.

3. To go to ofw sysnand, I just have to insert the right memory card and boot like normal?

To go to emunand, I always have to boot to hekate and launch emunand with the right memory card?

4. Updating the emunand cfw version will always have to pass through ChoiDujourNX? Sysnand ofw can still be updated over the internet?

5. What else can be done to keep this as ban-proof as possible now?

4. This is correct, as long as you are not using AutoRCM. If you update your sysNAND normally and you have AutoRCM installed, it will be overwritten.

5. You can install 90DNS and/or Incognito to your dirty emuNAND to keep it from getting your Switch banned if it accidentally gets connected to the internet.

If you go into the system settings and look at the system version, the version of Atmosphere will be displayed. For example, if you are using system version 8.1.0 and Atmosphere v0.9.2, the system version displayed in the system settings will be 8.1.0 (AMS 0.9.2).
Thanks already found it, using system version 8.1.0 and Atmosphere v0.9.2 like you said

You need to hold the R button when you select the album in order to open the homebrew launcher.

A lot of people would recommend using Edizon.
thanks, and i already find there is Edizon in my switch, but when i try using it's show this message : no config for this game was found. Editing is disabled.
what should i do?

A lot of people would recommend using Atmosphere (plus signature patches that aren't included). It has the most features and is updated very frequently.

ReiNX is a fine alternative, but it receives updates less often and doesn't have all of the features of Atmosphere.
what is signature patches? and where can i find it? and is there video tutorial for it?

I'm not sure what you're asking here. If you're using Atmosphere, fusee-primary is the recommended way to launch it. Alternatively, you can use Hekate to launch Atmosphere.
actually i dont really know what payload is. i read somewhere now free cfw can run XCI games, but only run for spesific payload.

You can do that if you want, but it's not needed. It's going to make entering Atmosphere easier after fully powering off the system, but you can just use your computer for that. I'm not sure what kind of jig you're already using, but you apparently have something already, and AutoRCM removes the need for a jig.
i dont have any jig, i bought switch from seller already in cfw, and seller doesnt give any jig.
i hear autoRCM can brick the switch, do my switch in autoRCM? how can i know my switch in autoRCM?
thanks a lot

im new to this so bare with me, i have the latest atmosphere with the sig patch files from here, i first installed a small nsp game spacecats with lazers, used goldleaf and it runs fine in emummc off the sd card. i then used a dumper program to dump my mario odyssey cart and pkmn lets go carts. then also tried a smm2.nsp from the net ( i have a cart ) and all 3 error out when trying to i stall. says invalid nca might mean missing sig patches or too low firmware. my sysnand and emummc are both 8.1.0. why am i getting this error?

I'll try to look into incognito. Not sure what advantage an online dirty emunand would have though.

Hello,
Yesterday i hacked my switch, with emuMMC. But I still have some questions.

1) I used a 400GB sd card. I formatted it and made to partitions one on 30GB and one on 330GB. I put the bootloader and atmosphere on the 30GB partition - was the right or should it have been on the other?

2) Im currently on OFW 8.0.1 on my sysnand, but want to play online. Can I update OFW and CFW offline to 8.1 with ChoiDujourNX?

3) I have not linked a user to a nintendo account, since I coundn't do it, because im on 8.0.1.
- Can I somehow update OFW offline to 8.1 and then do the do hack again, so I have a linked account on my emunand?

---

I tried to update my emunand to 8.1 with ChoiDujourNX - it worked fine, but just tried to boot to my sysnand and it sys : Current system version: 8.0.1 (AMS 0.9.2) This means its a CFW, right?

hi, I hacked my switch last november and havent updated it since (with choidujour ofc) so it's still 5.x so I dont have the exfat support. I want to update it now with choidujour so should I just update it to 7.x or even 8.x? some ppl say 6.2 is a sweet spot for hacked consoles as it allows you to play almsot any game if you ignore the fw when installing games.

1st partition is for sd, 30GB is for hidden partition emummc

thanks, and i already find there is Edizon in my switch, but when i try using it's show this message : no config for this game was found. Editing is disabled.
From the EdiZon Github page:
To download working Editor Config and Editor Script files, visit this repository

Check out our Wiki page for more information on how to build your own Editor Config and Editor Script files.

actually i dont really know what payload is.
A payload is what you push to your Switch to launch CFW, Hekate, etc. If you're using Atmosphere, which is recommended, then you should be using fusee-primary (recommended) or Hekate.

i read somewhere now free cfw can run XCI games, but only run for spesific payload.
You cannot run XCI files without SX OS. If you're using Atmosphere or ReiNX, you need to install NSP files. You can also install XCI files as if they were NSP files. There is no benefit in using XCI files over NSP files, so it doesn't really matter.

i dont have any jig, i bought switch from seller already in cfw, and seller doesnt give any jig.
Then there are two options:
  1. AutoRCM is already installed.
  2. If your Switch powers off completely, you have no way of getting back into CFW (without a jig).
Have you completely powered off the system since getting it? Have you pushed a payload to your Switch while in RCM using something like TegraRcmGUI?

i hear autoRCM can brick the switch, do my switch in autoRCM?
AutoRCM is relatively safe and won't irreparably brick your Switch. It causes your Switch to coldboot into RCM after the Switch is fully powered off. This is a very convenient way to enter RCM, but it means you need to push a payload like fusee-primary or Hekate before you will be able to use your Switch again after powering it off. If you have AutoRCM installed, the Switch should be left in sleep mode whenever it's not being used.

how can i know my switch in autoRCM?
The only way to check is to power off the Switch completely and power it back on. If it boots normally into OFW, it doesn't have AutoRCM installed. If it seems like it's physically unable to power on, that means it has entered RCM.

There is no reason not to update to 8.1.0, and you will have to update to it eventually to be able to play newer games/updates. Make sure you update to the latest version of Atmosphere (or whichever CFW you use) before updating your Switch to 8.1.0 using ChoiDujourNX.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I'll try to look into incognito. Not sure what advantage an online dirty emunand would have though.
Some people use online features in certain homebrew applications. If you don't, then there's no reason to connect the dirty emuNAND to the internet. Installing 90DNS and/or Incognito is also a good way to make sure that, if the emuNAND is accidentally connected to the internet, you don't get the whole Switch banned.

By safest I meant for dual booting and going online without ban
