If the lady restored a clean backup before she sold it to you, your new backup should be also clean. How did she clean the switch?
I will ask her, thanks.

So if she says she restored it with a clean backup- then I am fine to go ahead. If she didn’t, is it still worth doing a backup incase my switch ever mucks up? I’m guessing if she didn’t have a clean backup then I can’t really use the new emmuNAND feature on atmosphere to play online? As the switch will have some trace of CFW?

Always create a backup in case something bad happens. If it’s not clean, you shouldn’t go online with it. There are some tricks to clean your NAND with ChoiDujourNX or mounting your switch and delete save folders. But I’m not really sure if your switch is clean afterwards. Personally, I would only go online if she restored a clean NAND backup.

Yes I agree, I won’t rick going online unless it was a clean backup.

One other questions- when I start hacking my switch the first thing I do is follow the SDsetup guide, after doing that I can then backup my switch. Once I have all the backups, should I use Choi to update my firmware or can I do that after sorting atmosphere out etc?

Simply follow the guide. I’m pretty sure that you have to do NAND backup if you follow every step. The first thing you do is to inject hekate and backup your NAND. Then set up Atmosphere and update your console.

Thank you very much.

Is there a guide on how to install NSP’s as I thought it was just the case of putting it onto sd card and using Goldleaf to installs but I keep reading things about patches and Sigpatches to be able to play them?

If you use Atmosphere, you need to have the sigpatches for your firmware on the micro sd card. Kosmos includes these patches.

so, another question here...

I have my jig, now I'm just waiting on my 256GB SD. Can I set it up now on my 64GB and just copy everything to the 256GB when I get it?

I know you can’t link the website, but what can I google to get the best site for nsp files?

Hi everyone, I've encountered a weird problem.

I've tried to backup my NAND by using the gbatemp guide by Canna (Sorry, I'm not allowed to post links). I got until step 11, where I managed to dump data on my SD card. However, I got an error message stating "bootloader library for sleep mode is missing". After some googling, the answer is apparently to "put the Hekate files on the SD card". Not being 100% sure what that meant, I downloaded the Hekate 4.10.1 files from Github, that is a folder called "bootloader" and "hekate.ctcaer_4.10.1.bin" and put them on my SD card. After trying to enter CRM again, instead I was greeted with a red "boot.dat?"-kind of error message. Confused, I decided to just remove all files from the SD card and download the original files from the guide again. After putting my SD back in the Nintendo Switch, and trying to enter CRM, I still get the error message.

Does anyone have an idea what my problem might be, and what I need to do with my Switch/my SD to get back into CRM?

You are suppose to put Hekate file on your sd card.

Thanks for your quick reply. If by that, you mean downloading the contents of "hekate_ctcaer_4.10.1.zp" into the root of my SD card, that is exactly what I did and what is causing the error. Removing the files from my SD card and trying again didn't help in getting rid of the error. Do you have an idea what the problem might be?

did you copy over the whole bootloader directory? worse case you can use Kosmos pack, from the NAND backup part you only need the boot0/boot1 and the raw nand.

So I read that the "boot.dat?" error message was connected to some OSX files being used. I've tried removing them from the SD and voilà, I could boot into CRM again. I just continued following the guide, until I've gotten to the command "Dump package 1/2", where I now get the message "Found pgk 1 <'20190208150037'>. sept will run to get the keys. Then rerun this option." - I'm not quite sure what that means. Is this another error message? Should I just wait, even though it has already been a couple of minutes?

Sound like you launched lockpick_RCM, that is normal, just let it grab the keys, you can use Kosmos pack and do the nand backup that way, no need of Canna guide. Just do your boot0/boot1 and a copy of your gpt raw nand.

Hello,

Running SX 2.7.1;

What is the easiest way to backup my switch game saves in case my SDCard gets corrupted and I need to do a fresh reset of the switch?

I've been having trouble getting new game installs to work recently. It started after I installed an update for Skyrim, after that some games I had installed stopped loading and just said try to load again from the home menu. Deleting the tickets in goldleaf solves this, but any new installs don't load if I install them to sd card. It just asks me to set up my internet settings and refuses to load, but they work fine if installed to the system memory. Any ideas whats wrong?
Forgot to mention that installing .NSP files from the SD card with Tinfoil on firmware versions 7.0 or higher will not work. Use either USB or network install with Adubbz Tinfoil if your firmware version is at least 7.0
