Hacking Password locked switch

I am looking to buy a switch that is 'Broken' it is not patched. It can not read games (I dont care about that)

Only thing is it is password locked.

My question it will it boot into CFW after sending payload even tho OFW is password locked ? if so can I then update firmware with ChoiNX with no issues ? or is a way to remove the password ?

Thanks in advance ..... I know kinda a not so common issue

already have a hacked switch. what I am looking to buy is $80 for the tablet only . I have already checked the serial#

Everything will still work.
Maybe that booting to maintenance menu and factory resetting from there can remove it. The same goes for Choi. I guess that if you factory reset with it it can remove the password.

Yeah I thought maybe maintenance mode may.. wanting to confirm it will tho.

CFW will ask for password just like OFW for sure (which I guess makes choi unusable).

Thanks for the info , getting me closer to deciding if I should buy it.. thats giving me a big don't buy it.


So I guess my question/s are will maintenance mode remove password ? if not will calling Nintendo help remove it ? I called nintendo to remove a password from a WiiU once that I got from a pawn shop and that worked.. or is anyway to find default password with a online tool like wiiu ?

parental control pin from what I understand. I didn't know there is other locks

Remember if it's 8.0.0+, you will need to RCM it, run Lockpick_RCM and get the PRODINFO. In it is the device ID you need to generate the unlock key. Team Salt have done a good job updating it for new firmwares.

Alrighty , I still need to look more into that, but I'll figure it out thanks... my current switch is on 7.0.1 with 6 burn/have a 5.1.0 backup. if I update my current system do I need to do that ? or is that if I just start at 8+ ?

Not at all, if that switch is below 8, it's easier. Just read on the site and they have all info.
Booting RCM is super easy if you got a jig already. You can launch the payload with your PC or Phone.

Ive got a Jig/Atmo injector.. So to go from 7.0.1 to 8+ just use choiNX like I have done before ..... yeah not talking about the swith I am buying tomorrow anymore LOL so off topic now -- but you solved that issue .... thanks

Oh lol...

Yeah just use ChoiNX to upgrade as normal if you really want 8+.

Exactly, is it 8+ the one you buy tomorrow. You will need PRODINFO according to mkey site.
