So I modded my Switch tonight, Backed up my Raw NAND and Boot0/Boot1. Just got done a few hours ago and have already installed a bunch of NSP backups. I have been using NS-USBLoader to install the NSP's I have through USB form my PC.

I am super excited about the future of my switch, and I cannot wait until I can load my games from USB Flash drive or External HDD while I am on Atmosphere, seeing as I don't have SXOS (as far as I know, you can only run games from external USB or HDD if you have SXOS).

But I have one SERIOUS question that I would like to figure out...

Everytime I want to play a game on my switch while on CFW, I have to plug my switch into my PC and push a payload to get into CFW... (obviously)

But what are the other ways I could push payloads, that do not require me being plugged into my PC? I know I can push a payload with USB from my android phone, but I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and it uses Micro USB, not USB C. So Maybe I will have to buy an adapter...

But either way, Can someone list me all the other known methods of pushing a payload without being plugged into a PC?

I want to figure out how I would turn on my switch, enter RCM, and load my CFW (Atmosphere)... while i am on lunch at work, or while I am at breakfast with my girlfriend so we can play something together.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

P.S - If you know of more than one method to push payloads that dont require being plugged into a PC via USB, PLEASE post them ALL.

Your note 5 came with an OTG adapter. Use that with a regular USB to USB c cable and the app rekado. My son has the same phone and that's what he does.

Also, I cant remember the last time I had to launch a payload. Just put it to sleep. Dont turn it off.

My Note 5 didn't come with anything of the sort, just the charger, the brick, the phone, the manual, and headphones.

Get a Trinket M0 (Modchip) fitted or a payload dongle.

Modchip or dongle or phone with otg.

That is what I plan on doing, getting a payload pusher, but I am just curious of any of the other methods to push payloads without being plugged into a PC.

From what is already mentioned no.

The dongle is legit just that if you get it shipped from China it can take up to two months, I just got one in the mail that I ordered like 1 1/2 month ago lol.

Crap haha. Maybe I can find that RCMLoader kit from another site then. I want to have it delivered within the next week or two MAX.

ali express is like amazon marketplace or ebay. anyone can sell there.
and you don't always get what you order. there are scammers there, but at ~10bucks, the risk is low.
this one has a ship from us option, that's always good.

that said, you don't even need to push payloads all that much anymore, once you're set up.

latest atmosphere versions can reboot back to cfw in case of a crash, there's not too many reasons to turn of your switch entirely anymore, if you install games through usb (no need to remove sd card anymore).

my switch hasn't needed a payload in at least 3 months now. but a dongle doesn't hurt of course.

Yeah I understand all of that, but I have a slight OCD with not leaving my system in sleep mode when I am not using it. I would rather turn it off when I am not using it. If there was another way to load up my CFW when I turn on my switch, besides pushing a payload with a USB cable, or using a dongle, then I would rather do that. But it seems like I am going to have to buy a dongle. I would rather not carry another USB with me everywhere I bring my switch. I don't have a case for it yet to put all my accessories in.

Then your only other option is the modchip route.

well, for what it's worth, the switch was designed to utilize sleep mode most of the time and it holds a charge really well. but you do you.

note that they're kind of a hassle to install though.

I am alright with getting a dongle. It's no big deal. I was just trying to figure out if that was the best option for me personally. You all are super helpful!

OH HEY! I am not sure if you have the answer for this, and it's totally off subject but whatever lol. I am thinking of using CDNSP, The GUI version... But after reading a bunch of replies to the forum thread about it, I see a bunch of people talking about how its not safe to use. IS this true?

Also, if it IS safe to use, could you give me a basic rundown of how I use it if you know? i.w is there anything special I need to do after downloading my NSP backup from CDNSP? or do I jsut install the NSP as usual onto my switch and then play?

Nevermind! I was going to use CDNSP to get a backup of Crypt of the Necrodancer, because I made a backup of mine and when I went to install it, I would get an error saying that the metadata was missing. But I just made another backup and now it installed fine. Wont be needing CDNSP then I guess.

from what i remember, while cdnsp is still technically working, it requires original switch certs to operate (you have one in your device and if it's gone, it's gone) and those get banned real fast these days.
if you ever intend to maybe go clean (or wait for an emunand situation), it's probably not worth it.

Aliexpress is way less scammy compared to Ebay or Amazon.
