So there are good news and bad news. The good news is the banks are all ready.
The bad news is that some of them don't work together. Whenever I put in both the bank that contains the level music and the bank with most of the general purpose sounds in place (the former is quite big, the latter pretty small), the game stops loading some others. It only worked when I made the music bank a lot smaller. They all work individually though.
So either I messed up setting all sizes and there is still some value (I've already adjusted three per bank ....) left that needs setting, OR there is actually some nasty new (memory) limitation on how big loaded sounds can be.

Either way, I'll try and find a sweetspot maybe and encode the files from the music banks once more..

First of all, I'd like to thank you and speedsouls community for spending your time with this mod. If I were to choose between the music and general purpose sounds, I would go with the sounds. The music is usually just used during the boss fights and majority of the game is just ambiance.

Nonetheless, if I understand correctly this mod was largely made by editing the hex values by hand (which is really impressive), however would writing a debug script that checks the size value would be a viable option? Or that would not work?

Just a quick note to say thanks a lot for what you and others have done so far.

So it turns out my files were twice the size of the original ones due to encoding. The game always seemed to have a memory limit on sounds and I just went way over it.
Picked a different format and adjusted the quality to match the right size and now everything works fine :D

I've uploaded the sound pack to the DS:R Nexus

Fantastic, enormous thanks to you and others who were involved in this.

I can finally buy the game! :)

Are you going to mention this in the Switch hacking subreddits?

Just out curiosity, what encoding did you use?

Amazing work! Can't wait to try it out!

Also, you should probably post a release thread on this, so more people can find it.

@horkrux just to let you know that there are sounds that doesnt play.
On my new run I went directly to blight town and noticed most mobs didnt reproduce their sounds.
When I was finished there I took the londo ruins elevator up and didnt had sound either untill it reached the top. There it started working again. Do you have an idea of what may cause this to happen?

Edit: yeah almost every sound doesnt work in blighttown.

Edit 2: boss area dont have any sounds, including music.

Cinematic after ringing the bell is soundless too... seems like sound breaks after going through blighttown @horkrux

I want to use this awesome mod but can’t, as Nintendo could ban my Nintendo Online Account if I install homebrew launcher...
:(

Well, there are ways of using homebrew that minimise the chances of getting banned. Do a nand backup and use 90DNS to block Nintendo servers, or just keep your switch in offline mode. Then when you want to go online, you can just simply restore your nand.

Another way is to have an emunand setup up with sxos, as this will let you to use homebrew on emunand and go online on the regular nand.

Does the audio mod take care of the missing sounds too? Like the sound effect of pulling out a sword from a plunging attack

Guys I recently fight Manus and found out that he was missing their sound effects, I talked with horkrux about it but this boss is actually pretty far in the game, I defeat him so my save wouldn’t be useful for test, if someone has a advanced save that hasn’t beat him please share it in order to test.

Thanks

Has anyone tried modding the Switch port to run at 720p 60fps? It might break physics, like in the original. Worth a shot at least.

is it possible to run/port daughters of ash or any other similar mod?
Probably not. Daughters of Ash was designed for the original Dark Souls. A Dark Souls: Remastered version is getting worked on so it might work in the future.
