How do I turn on my R4S dongle? Left it to charge Sunday, then pressed and held the button to turn off the blue light, then, the next morning, it wouldn't launch the payload, or turn on the blue light...

Good day. I recently had my sd card go corrupt on me. I copied all the content to my PC. How can I restore the games in the "Nintendo" folder?

Hey guys, I have my Switch on 5.1 (or something very very old) and I want to update because the next pokemon game will probably prompt me to do it. I have SX OS. What should I do? It's been such a long time since I've read about it that I don't know anything

Unless you update your firmware, you're SOL. There are ways of rebuilding .NSP files to work on lower firmware revisions but they don't really seem to work.

And I mean this in a general sense, even if it's impossible for Sword and Shield to use the latest firmware.

If both consoles are exploitable, you can use any save manager homebrew application to transfer the saves from one console to another. Otherwise, you will need to update both consoles to the latest firmware and use the save transfer feature introduced in firmware 8.X

Using SX OS and creating emuNAND on the 1.0.0 console, can I update to 8.0.x without burning fuses? Is this a concern since OFW would see burnt fuses even though it's never been updated? Alternatively, I could update 8.0.x on the OFW. Would I lose anything potentially interesting by updating OFW to the latest? Thanks

The OS doesn't give a shit about the eFuses: only the bootloader does.
8.0 users cannot use Deja Vu, but that's not really a huge blow if you can use the RCM exploit on both consoles.

Not 100% sure the secondary console is RCM exploitable. I seem to recall it being in the "probably patched" serials and I don't have it currently in my possession to test if SX OS would boot.

Switch CFW 6.2 AutoRCM (4.2 waiting)....Atmosphere 0.8.5 (yea - need to update this Dinosaur). San Disk 256 GB ExFat card (no issues) with about 5gb remaining. This early twilight morning I'm at "the store".... download a few smaller -all-free-games- this time, and getting a few updates. I don't remember doing it but guess I got an update for Mario Odyssey.....this STORE doesn't have any 1st party game downloads - - but does have 1st party updates I guess. LOTS of other switch game downloads (and Updates/DLC).....over 400 US games I'd say. *I haven't played the original Odyssey except to be sure it worked when installed about a month ago - only about 10 minutes of play. Well I try it after I see it at the near "beginning" of the lineup of games on main screen, after I finished with the STORE....so this is telling me I did update it. When I try it I get the switch logo with the animated joycon in lower right as it should - but then the screen just freezes. Hard reset with power button for 8+ seconds. I uninstall the update only with Goldleaf with no help. Game won't boot now - I see a nag for game update required and no way around it. Delete the game and install fresh without update, and still nag for update of course with no game boot. Install my V1.3 update (different download site) *can't see the download option at the store now --> it knows if you've been updated and no option for updating a prior successful update again. Anyway with an update the game freezes after start of B&W animation. I need to update to 8.0 (Odyssey game update says keys 5.1 I believe)....or did I download a soured patch/update and I'm locked out of the game now?

Basically I updated Super Mario Odyssey with downloaded v1.3 update *Live download/update from "community" online source.

Now I get the black screen with little white icons top /bottom.... *lower right will "twitch" and now requires hard reset (power button 8+ seconds).

I remove update, getting NAG for update "common". Remove game now....install game again....Nag (common) and then reinstall update -

I'm back to the locked boot screen when I try to start again -*switch icon bottom right will "twitch" once as before (common).

What happened......will an update to 8.0 fix?

All other games and Apps work fine:

Running Atmosphere 0.8.5 on Sys 6.2 with 256 GB SD card "ExFat" with 5 GB remaining.

Using Goldleaf to reinstall NSP game & update (now)

..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Fixed it myself. Used DevMenu (since I'm on older firmware), and removed the update - then used the "RESET Required Firmware Needed" (something like that) and that last part did the trick.
Tinfoil can do the same (first attempt tonight) but being such a low firmware that I am running....I didn't have the "experimental" CFW option, that was said to be required to install the program.

Since DevMenu was before Tinfoil came around...I looked it up and had same ability so I jumped on that. My Super Mario Odyssey will now work after removing update. I will try v1.2 update. If it doesn't work....no biggie - I can remove that and fix the required needed firmware and be off again.

Heh, I don't blame you for being confused since the wording implies you go online with EmuNAND. What I meant was once EmuNAND is done, you should be booting OFW in SysNAND to play online.

This next point you can ignore since it does not apply to you but EmuNAND's purpose isn't to be used offline. In fact, for patched units who cannot update past firmware 7.0.1 in order to use Deja Vu so they have a way of booting CFW will have to rely on EmuNAND in order to go online. Deja Vu is a warmboot exploit chain that is firmware-dependent and once you update past the firmware versions it supports, you will not be able to use it anymore. And the thing is the firmware versions required to go online surpass Deja Vu's supported firmware versions. So in order to enjoy the benefits of being on a higher firmware and more importantly play online, you will not only need EmuNAND to be on the latest firmware but you can only go online in EmuNAND not SysNAND.
Hey, take a look at my message from previous page

Keys aren't needed here. You also didn't indicate whether you used the patches from the thread I linked when you booted via Fusee. And since your SD card is formatted as exFAT, its possible your SD card was corrupted which also corrupted any games you installed to the SD card.

I also encounter a problem concerning the sdcard (exfat).
When I want to launch CFW (EmuNAND enabled), I only get a black screen.

1) Should I switch to FAT32 or boot in OFW and grab the exfat update for my sdcard?
2) Considering I have an old switch model and it's on lastest FW, I just have to update it normally in OFW when there is a new update?

Hi guys need a lil help. I'm unable to get the RCM for my switch going to check out if my switch can do all this homebrew business.
I've used two jigs, and tinfoil with no luck - is there perhaps another way to boot up into RCM - preferably one that doesnt have to use the power and + button?

Sooooo....... I see all these members with multiple medals all pinned to their member links like General Patton :-)
Then I ask what has to be a simple question *I get a lock screen after a "Game Update" on Sys 6.2.0 with Atmosphere 0.8.5 for NSP - Super Mario Odyssey UPD v1.3 - Never hear anything???? I figured with all those medals we'd have some help (?). Nothing. I didn't want to try for a Firmware update to 8.0 -8.1 because so new and issues as always with new CFW. So I waited. Well tonight I bumped into a mention of using TINFOIL to remove the update "and" RESET the required version (on Super Mario Odyssey of all things at YouTube) - BINGO!!! So I install the additional Tinfoil files (use Tinfoil only for hbg myself) needed to reset to FIX this problem, but now doesn't work because I'm on a lower firmware did not have the "push Y button for reset" option to fix it.

STUCK again....but reasoned that this TINFOIL was a Update of an older DevMenu - I went searching.....found on Youtube a link for DevMenu install for 6.x - Longest story made sorta short.......that worked. I used Goldleaf - My prefered NSP installer for the DevMenu install instead of the Tinfoil YouTuber mentioned since it was an old video anyway, I figured Goldleaf would work now

*I' really don't know what happened. NOOB section not much help for me on this. I will try to update to v1.2 and if screen freezes....I have a save option now in DevMenu.

Did we forget guys - or just to much trouble ;-)

This DevMenu or the "Tinfoil" option of removing this REQUIRED Update (NAG) after a failed or not wanted update is to HELPFULL to forget about "Ever".

There is NO WAY to play the game again if you run into trouble or don't want those updates again.

*I got the SMO v1.3 update at HBG and don't know why it allowed the download to begin with - all other updates will not install or initialize if my firmware it to low.
Should look into getting that fixed or a warning about it's Firmware or Payload needs - it WILL block out a Noob or misinformed "player".

I'm assuming it works somewhere above 6.2.0 or Above 0.8.5 CFW AMS

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update v1.2 for Super Mario Odyssey WORKS for my Firmware and CFW setup. Sys 6.2.0 - Atmosphere 0.8.5

Will do. In the meantime, Deja Vu was an exploit that allowed for what? Homebrew?
Deja Vu is basically what patched Switches have to use to run RCM payloads.

You can install AutoRCM once you get into RCM at least once. You still have to tear your hair out getting into RCM with the pin shorting first.

Did you search for serial number information to be sure it could be hacked? https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-...he-first-post-before-asking-questions.481215/ that will give you a "Definite / Maybe / NO" answer. If you have a Definite or Maybe - You MUST get the Black Screen Using an RCM Jig (no other way) and follow TEST payload or booting CFW with Atmosphere or ReiNX or XS OS (your choice) "cough"....Atmosphere :-)

Some of those RCM Jigs require you to put a piece of paper clip (stiff copper wire easier on your switch connections) into the plastic and then slide down onto the right rail guide - many times this paper clip will slip up a little out of the jig and not make contact. This is what my 2nd Jig did all the time. I would gently push the protruding clip down a little and it would connect for me, then push the power + volume. After awhile I just super glued it into place when I knew paper clip would always work (push clip down solid and glue) *Away from your Switch until it dries. I would suggest filing down the front side of the clip "tips" with a slight angle and put back in jig before securing. That way it has an easier glide into the rail contacts because rough tips are fixed. You will need to always use the power + button. But after you get CFW going you have an option to use AutoRCM that no longer needs an RCM Jig to be used but you will need to push the power button. You will also need either a "Payload Injector" (cheap and recommended) or data cable and use TegraRcmGUI software (and a payload) on PC to boot the payloader. Payloader is ONLY needed if you turn Switch totally off (sleep mode not needed-okay) or if you have complete battery discharge OR if your Switch falls on it's face with a bad or incompatible custom firmware boot attempt causing a freeze screen (hold power button down for 8+ seconds to hard reboot). *Will need to use payloader again. So if all is good you can put Jig away (don't lose your key) and not worry about funny button pushes unless those troubles happen.

Thanks for reply, its in the maybe section hence the difficulty!
RCM jig that I have already has the copper so won't be able to take your suggestion and yes still need to get the first RCM boot before I can autoRCM :(

Sounds like you have a patched Switch most likely if it wont go into RCM Mode. If is new enough then take it back. I know Best Buy in my area still has hackable serial numbered consoles on their shelves, mixed in with the patched units. Copy serial number list to phone and find one. Have to go to different Best Buy stores to find them maybe. In my area they have most up high on a stock shelf, with only a few 6 or 7 down below for customer access. Just tell them your looking for a low serial number console and they "will" look through some quickly to help make a sale. Craigslist is good for a nice used machine. But dang - they want New Prices nearly for the ones around here (and not knowing about hack serial numbers). Nearly ALL your used ones will be hackable.

Hey thanks for your concern, i've been told that all switches are able to enter RCM mode irrespective of it being patched or not. Only difference is that you might not be able to inject the payload. I've tried hitting up all my second hand stores and nothing proved fruitful :(
