Hardware Thx VMware for breaking my PC's keyboard functionality. I always loved Oracle VirtualBox.

If you are dumb enough, I'm using the onscreen keyboard. And all because VMware screwed my PC with the "ENHANCED KEYBOARD DRIVER" Yeah, lovely. Here's 2 pics proving my dilemma;

Basically, any keyboard I plugged into my PC would NOT for the life of me detect keystrokes. I replaced the battery, uninstalled the driver and replugged in the Logitech Unifying Receiver, nothin. A guide said to look for a specific registry value and it wasn't there. I despise Apple, so no iTunes. WHAT DO I DO!?

You stuck itunes on a VM so as not to infect your main machine? First I should mention there is mediamonkey and a bunch of other itunes alternatives that do as well, if not better, for sticking music on the things if you have to suffer them.

Back on topic. I am assuming there is no nice clean uninstaller for a keyboard (sometimes you get them for printers, graphics cards, antivirus...). I don't think revo uninstaller would do much here but you could try that.

You could make one. Assuming it is not installed in the VM it should pass it through still. Do a before and after of the registry to see what the uninstaller might have missed and create your own clean uninstall method.

I use VLC. As for the system restore, no dice. I hope I can repair the drivers via Win 7 install disk.

edit: i hate Apple. That's why I dont use iTunes. I went back further in my restore points and I think the install disk is the best solution. Either im getting ReactOS or ima get out the win 7 disk to repair my installation.

Did you ever install Windows 7 Service Pack 1? If not, that could very well again be the problem.
I reinstalled Windows 7. There you go; im going back to VirtualBox because VMWare crippled my PC's keyboard. The "ENHANCED KEYBOARD DRIVER" might as well be a keylogger or somethin, though it doesn't explain lack of keyboard use. For those previous posts of mine, as i said, I used the built-in onscreen keyboard.

Happily ever after. i've been waiting to say that. :D:toot::hrth::toot::D

Moral: VMWare is garbage, even though all the cool YTers use it.

Oh?
Most of the ones I have seen if they need a mere mortals level virtualisation system for use on an end user OS then they use virtualbox. All the scam baiters use virtualbox. The people doing virus fights go with it. The people doing reverse engineering of PC games also seem to favour it. Most of the people on Linux doing good stuff if they need Windows for something will use virtualbox. Mac people OSX is not cool so no worries there.

Even when needing something with a bit more teeth then they tend to go for https://www.proxmox.com/en/downloads or the really big boy stuff.
