Well, but the point is seeing if the Wii Mini's system menu would load and install that modded disc. We already know that Gecko & NeoGamma can ignore the signature checks.

I've been wrestling with that issue myself. How can you hack a Wii Mini without modifying the hardware? Here's what we know:

  • First of all, we know that there is no WiFi. No Wii Shop or Internet Browser, no WiiConnect24, nothing of the sort.
  • No SD card slot, so thus no Wii Channel or save game backups there.
  • One USB slot? A possibility, but most exploits are designed for SD card access. Since the Wii Mini has no native external storage support, it would have to be an exploit which does not need this.
  • You may be able to hack into it using the Wii Mini's disc loading feature, but the disc has to have a signature which passes itself off as Wii Mini compatible (spoof signature?), perhaps even designed in such a way that the Wii Mini thinks it's a legit game (i.e. Mario Kart Wii) when in fact it's an exploit. It's not like it hasn't been done before...
  • There's also Bluetooth. The Wii remotes actually use Bluetooth to communicate with the Wii. You could write a program for your smart phone or other Bluetooth-capable device that disguises itself as a Wii peripheral and forces an exploit upload to the Wii Mini. I'm not really sure how this is possible, though.
It's not impossible; it just hasn't been mastered yet.

You could plug a USB SD card reader into a usb hub connected to the Wii mini

Not yet, and not likely to happen at this point. Used Wiis are so dirt cheap now there's not much point in trying to hack the Wii Mini just to get a lesser experience. And there aren't really any devs working on the Wii anymore.
I'm not a dev but I'm happy to try and hack this thing [emoji23]

Ok, let's get this straight:
A SD exploit is not possible, even with a SD-to-USB adapter for obvoious reasons.
An USB exploit is possible, but not many games make use of an USB.
The only thing left is a Bluetooth exploit, with things such as games with NFC readers (Skylanders perhaps) and things that can be transfered via the Wiimote (maybe corruped Mii's).

We'll just have to wait, because the Wii Mini hacking scene is thinking very hard on a possible exploit. We thought of things like backup discs, but the Trucha bug is patched on the Wii Mini.

Ok. Maybe a Corrupted Mii on a Wiimote from a Wii to then copy to the Wii mini that somehow launches Neogamma? Idk [emoji23]

Well, we're not sure. As long we can't extract Mii data and send it back onto a Wiimote, a Mii Channel exploit is very unlikely. Still worth a try.

Hello.:)

Maybe two choices:

- You can have to come to grips with the Wii Mini´s Hardware and try to create some new exploit that utilizes data that could be transferred the Wiimote.

- You can create a new exploit that would need to load a payload (homebrew boot.dol/.elf file) from a USB drive.

Good luck.:)

We have a bit to think about here. My main idea was something regarding having a modded Wii and a computer with you to exploit the Wii mini
