Yes, it is patched correctly. Several other people have issues with Pearl over Wiimmfi as well. It does not work when trying to actually connect in the basement of the Pokemon Center.
Weird, then just try to use your Pearl save in Diamond. Diamond should have no problem reading a save that was made in Pearl.
I don't know how to fix it, maybe start a conversation with Wiimm on here or Wii-homebrew.com and explain your problem.

Btw, are there any side effects to transferring a Pearl save to Diamond and back throughout the course of a playthrough? Will in-game events screw up, etc. from having the save mixed between different games?
I don't know, but since Diamond and Pearl are similar games, I would think Diamond wouldn't have a problem playing Pearl saves.

is there a way to include/update the new patching method directly in the usb loaders ? like autopatcher does.
I tried to look at the sources very quickly and think it involves new urls (nas and gamespy) and a different cheatcode (in bz2 in the sources) based on mario kart game region. not sure there are other things needed, like creating a new dol section which I don't know anything about and I might not be able to add to usbloadergx. if it's "only" url and cheat, I could update the patch to work on the new wiimmfi.

The new patch is only for Mario Kart Wii. The methods needed for the auto updater to work are in the main.dol, not in the StaticR. In theory it should be possible to implement the patches in an USB-Loader the same way the auto Wiimmfi patcher does.

Just as a status update for the others: I am currently talking to Cyan over PM and will probably code the new Wiimmfi support for the USB-Loader GX myself, as soon as I get it to compile in its current form.
I'm curious about Call of Duty World at War and 007 Quantum of Solace.
They both were Activision online games before Activision started using their own servers.

That means that these games used the WFC just for authentication and then used servers at mmp3.demonware.net instead of the WFC for the actual game play. They use different servers which nobody replicated, so these games can't be used on Wiimmfi because the game servers don't exist.

you can now play Mario Kart with the new security method by enabling wiimmfi setting directly from the loader.
you don't need to patch the ISO on your computer, unless you want to hard patch all the onscreen messages too, which are not patched by the loader. If you patch the ISO yourself, the loader will detect it and won't patch it again even if the option is enabled.

The Wiimmfi team will be performing some maintenance work on Wiimmfi, so you will be kicked from the server at 18:00 UTC, and you won't be able to login from 17:45 UTC onward.
At 19:00 UTC, logins will be possible again.
I have 4 Wiis. Am I allowed to use the same save file on all of them (not at the same time of course) and play on wiimmfi? Or will the system think I'm hacking? Really hoping to be able to play on the same save on my 4 Wiis, since they're in different rooms.
