SX OS 2.6 Beta released: full support for Nintendo Switch firmware 7.x

From Team Xecuter:

This new 2.6 BETA of SX OS adds full support for Nintendo Switch firmware 7.x, including ALL functionality you expect when using our product. We've been pioneering our own unique and proprietary solution for defeating any future firmware protection and we're quite happy with the results so far.

This release is marked as BETA because we changed things drastically under the hood to streamline future firmware updates and some things may inadvertently behave differently.

That does not mean it hasn't been vetted at all, so give it a shot today!

Of course, we haven't been sitting idly behind the scenes either. A lot of our development resources and attention has been dedicated to bringing SX OS to those "unhackable" switches. We are working hard to bring the SX OS experience to all of you who are stuck with an "unhackable" switch. Stay tuned for more news!

Right, but if someone tells you how to modify your stuff so it can be used for decrypting copyright content without permission then they are breaking the DMCA/EUCD/whatever.

Selling it after it's modded is also problematic.
You have to show me where it is written that telling someone how to mod their "stuff" is illegal, as I read our (Czech) copyright law and as long as you own it, nothing is illegal except distributing copies and downloading warez software.

and don't forget it's not the electronics.. it's about the code running on them.. this also applies to code running on any device. The issue is - when you purchase said device or program, what rights do you have to modify it? Similar could be concluded from passing on digital wallets, data stashes, itunes, steam libraries etc. etc.

that may be currently true.. but as multinational companies apply pressure to governments to protect the company's right.. it ''might or might not'' change in future.

It haven't been decided in court right?
Also, about digital wallets etc. It's called fraud if you do that. Maybe something Take-Two can use against the cheat software.

All countries signed up to WIPO are rolling out laws,

https://www.wipo.int/copyright/en/activities/internet_treaties.html

The DMCA was the first and the EUCD is being rolled out in the EU.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_Directive

National implementation measures include:

You'll have to forgive my in ability to read your language, so I can't confirm what was actually written into law.

This is my understanding of what should have been included...

Off top about fighting with each other is stupid and should be deleted since I know what hard to find solutions for problems with cfw digging with shitpodtes like SX OS threads have. If I will be moderator i will for sure hang on the rope to not read this cat fights and prevent my mental balance. God damn for this threads there is not enough popcorn on the Universe.

Generally I understand what you mean and I'm on your side... but I have complained about cfw-fights and wrote a few sentences about SX OS and their good package of features. Thats all. Nothing reprehensible in my eyes. The second part cant be offtopic.
BUT ok... ;)

Why do u ppl care about DMCA?

I'm only discussing it because it was claimed that posting keys wasn't allowed by gbatemp because it violated the DMCA (and other applicable anti circumvention rules) & I was pointing out that there were other violations, so I wasn't sure that gbatemp cared about it.

That law is still in my favor here (in the Czech Republic).

An individual or legal person does not interfere with the copyright law/directive/whatever, as long as its for personal use only (except for unowned software and except for sharing).
So you can download movies, music, text, simply anything except software.
You can't share any of those unless you made them or you are allowed to share them by the author.

But I guess that this went really offtopic here :D

Aye, also:
he Copyright Directive includes exceptions to allow breaking those measures for non-copyright-infringing purposes, such as jailbreaking to run alternative software,[47] but member states vary on the implementation of the directive.

Source:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IOS_jailbreaking
https://www.wired.co.uk/article/investigation-is-it-legal-to-jailbreak-a-uk-iphone

So no EUCD isn't set in stone.

In this particular case, the coder was only charged in November 2018.. it is most likely that the larger corp. will threaten him with action and he will capitulate outside of court - that would be cheaper for everyone all round.

The digital wallets I'm referring to are not in game wallets which can be hacked etc. it is PSN, XBOX LIVE, google wallet, itunes etc. which cannot even be passed down to family members in the event of the owner's death. The company owns the account and all contents.

Oh, I came to this thread to see if there were any issues and to see if it was worth me upgrading yet.

Instead, all I find is spam and it's impossible to find anything useful.
Why are users of other CFW even posting in this thread if it has nothing to do with them?

I thought GBATemp was a community... So why are some members of the community making it difficult for others just because of their choice of CFW?

The only major issue seems to be that USB loading isn't working. If you care about that, then don't update until it is fixed.

There is a few people reporting that they have having 'license issues' when trying to activate their recently purchased SX OS, this has been confirmed by the team to be minor bug and fix is being worked on, in the meantime their official reply on a workaround is to do the following:

Sorry about this, this is a known bug which we are fixing now, among a few other small bugs. We will update SX OS very soon and it will solve this issue. It won't be long, but thank you for your patience.

If you want to proceed now, this is how you can do it:

Please use SX OS 2.5.3 to generate your 'license-request.dat' on SD card. Then use the website to retrieve your license.dat

Again the team thanks for your quick and valued feedback, and stay tuned for update, and like always no ETA, but it will be very soon. :)

P.S. -- Yes, also the USB Loading bug been confirmed, and is being worked on as well! :D

I capiche that. But gbatemp doesn't even host sxos. It just sounds like ppl are trying to make excuses for gbatemp to remove any links to xecuter

Because if hackers not examine sx os binary (plain text key) the will be no problem to that, but now thread have 1. Bickering 2. Case for the Judge Judy. I think GBAtemp staff should do what they wanna do with link to SX OS stuff.

I was excited to see if Horizon Chase Turbo 1.05 update was working on this latest SX OS firmware. Turns out it still crashes just like on Atmos. Nice work, TX.

Think of it as a nursery rather than a community.
