Hi I recently homebrewed my WiiU and was looking into playing gamecube games on it. After following a youtube guide I was unable to see the nintendont file in the homebrew launcher. After some digging in the file names i noticed all of the boot files in the rooted folders end with .elf instead of .dol. After finding this out I change the name for the nintendont boot.dol to boot.elf and I managed to find the nintendont file in the launcher. Sadly because I changed the file type nothing happend. When changing back from boot.elf to boot.dol nothing happens. It seems as though my homebrew launcher does not show .dol files. Does anyone have a solution to this?
Thanks in advance!

Nintendont is a Wii homebrew, not a WiiU homebrew.
Wii uses dol, wiiu uses elf.

If you want to use Nintendont on a WiiU, you need to do either :
- softmod your virtual Wii mode, and use this mode to launch it.
or
- inject nintendont into a WiiU VirtualConsole Wii channel and install it in WiiU mode. when launching it, it'll switch the console into vWii mode and launch nintendont automatically from here as if it was a WiiU channel.

Personally, it's a lot easier to do it via vWii mode, but that's just me :P

I also prefer vWii mode, but lot of users just don't want to use 2 different HDDs, separated for each mode.
I think it's easier to dedicate one for vWii, it's easy to manage, add games, and use it for more than just wii or gamecube games. also, lot of injected games launched from VCWii are not working, while they work on vWii mode.

How exactly would I do that second option?

You can use a tool to inject it.
TeconMoon script injector ? or something named like that. it has an option to inject nintendont automatically with a game ISO (one channel = one game, autolaunched), or if you don't put any iso it'll just inject nintendont itself with the menu where you can pick an ISO from your SD card once launched.

That's how much I remember, I might be wrong, you'll have to read a little more about that injector tool.

Thank you, I had no idea where to start.
