Hi friends. :)

I want to change the cover art of the game while the mod. How can I do that?

Thank you.

I actually messed around with this a little while ago. You can do it by editing the files the home menu uses to cache title info. The home menu eventually just kept overwriting my custom ones with the default ones though. I dropped it because of that.

I've also been wanting this. I've been thinking about making some for Super Luigi Odyssey and the Legend of Linkle but there currently isn't a way to use them. Honestly there are some ones I wouldn't mind just fixing too.... Smash is a tad too busy for my tastes.

Maybe it would be possible to make a kip that re-overwrites them?

Please help me, I've been doing research for days.

There are a lot of experts in the forum that can be done, I'm hopeful :)

Pretty sure the easiest way would be to edit an nsp version and just replace the cover image, then install

Can patch be made? It's hard to upload an entire game
Probably, especially if there is an existing update for a game, you could most likely decrypt the update and add in a modified image.
I'm not entirely sure if it is that easy since I've never tried, but I used to do it on the 3DS and it would change the icon.

Could you make a guide on this? :)

If I knew exactly what I was doing then yes I would, but I've only extracted files on switch for layered mods, not repacked them into an update (which you would have to do to change the icon). So although I can repack update on the 3ds, it's not totally the same on switch.
I'm sure there'll be guides floating around here somewhere that will be able to help you further, try looking in the tutorial section.

The scripts I used to extract updates, which can also be used to repack, is this one here https://gbatemp.net/threads/extract-nsp-nca-xci-update-all-in-one-tool-for-layeredfs.511156/
and here https://github.com/The-4n/hacPack/
Maybe you can find a guide on using them for repacking updates and you unpack the base game, edit the icon file, then add it to the update file. (saves you having to repack and reinstall the whole game, just an update)
