Hello People,
So I have a Red Devil RX580 that comes with a silent/OC bios switch. The silent mode is stable but the performance is lacking to say the Least on most games. I tried the OC mode but it crashes under any stress.... any advice on what the settings should be in MSI afterburner?

Look up some overclocking guides specific to your sku. Make sure you're on the latest drivers. Do you have enough cooling and power supply available?

Tried OCing it, and it ran for 30 min.... then it froze the pc... and yep the drivers are up to date

Try completely removing the drivers via DDU. Then reinstall the latest drivers.
If that doesn't work, try a completely new windows installation.
That should really cover all the software bases.

Maybe you got a bad chip?

Thanks, I’ll check when I get home

There shouldn't be that much of a difference in performance between the two modes. OC mode just boosts the core speed a little (1380 vs 1355 on silent). If it's fine on silent, but not on oc, then it's probably not a stable overclock and could do with a bit more core voltage. I think the safe max for rx 580 is 1.2v.

I wouldn't mess around trying to correct it myself. Whole point of a factory overclock is no messing around, should be stable. I'd return it, if it's not stable at factory clocks, back it goes.

Hello.:)

I don´t want to disturb you,but when i use google with
"red devil rx 580 oc mode crashes" there comes an concernable count of entries/threads.

The most thing i can read of the threads, was to raise the POWERLIMIT. (somewhere inside the Driversettings).I don´t know it excactly,i´ve use an Nvidia Card and there is the Tool MSI Afterburner to do this.Maybe your Power Supply is to "weak" ? Has the Card an additional power Plug and is it connected ?

As above mentioned,an OC Modell has in my opinion not few possibilites to go much higher.
