@mattytrog wait plz i'm lost

Would try to test your Updated SWITCHBOOT but which one to choose ? this one SWITCHBOOT_TRINKET_JOYCON_VOLUME.uf2 ? As it is now separeted from REBUG folder
The Trinket and the Rebug are identical apart from the chip name in the INFO_UF2.TXT. Thats the only difference. Use either.

That was a dumb question sorry as this is INFO_UF2.TXT whom updated

@mattytrog about Trinket Mode's change from Mode 1 to Mode 2 for instance should i replace by 02 (Dec Value) at offset 4B00 in TRINKET_REBUG_SIMPLE_UF2_V096.UF2 ? Thank you

EDIT : answering myself tests in progress...

Hello, just wanted to thanks @mattytrog for all your work and your recommendations. This was my very first soldering job (yes, I am a little reckless) and it went very well. I did a clean dual boot installation and everything worked like a charm. That Antex XS25 with the 0,12mm bit you recommended me was amazing for this job. Also the summary of the tutorial that josete2k did on a spanish forum, and the answers he gave to my questions helped a lot. Thanks to both of you!
Sadly I didn´t take photos, but I used a rcmx86 chip.

Yes, a quick red flash. And no, it doesn't send a payload. As soon as the dongle turns on, the led flashes red and the switch stays at rcm.
What sort of flash? Quick? Try and see if it sends a payload

OK. I REALLY need a bootloader dump or better still, just buying one.

Anyone wanna do a trade? R4S for a fitted chip?

Note to MODS: This isn`t business or "trading" per se. This is me trying to get hold of an R4S so I can properly develop Simple-UF2 for it. No money changing hands.

@mattytrog I've reached out the Mode 2 from the Trinket with success :)
the main trouble its increase payload of one step from SX OS either with Power Off or Restart.
And this without Trinket Tact button pressed.

It doesn't happen with other payloads

As you leave the SX OS the Trinket makes a self reset ins't it ? thx

It "should" only increase upon a fail. However, if you only have one strap fitted and boot into stock, it will make the counter increase by one.

You may be better off using the payload menu in Simple-UF2/ hekate.

To use this, rename "payload.bin" or "payload<number>.bin" to something and choose it from the menu.

I'm thinking of ideas I can use to improve this. I'm thinking a long press on vol+ to increase payload

Ok i think i understand now thank you. As i don't have the Joycon strap fitted Simple UF2 considers this as "sending failure" so the counter autoincrease
by one everytime i jump onto Horizon (either from OFW or SX OS) and i Power Off or Reboot\Restart. Notice : from OFW Horizon it makes the counter increase by two.

Yep back to Trinket Mode 1 and will use this way at the moment

THX for the remind :D

You give it up with the USB connection's idea instead ?

I can try dumping the bootloader unless it includes taking this thing apart and soldering to a bunch of points.

I think BOSSA should be able to do it. However, don`t write anything with BOSSA. It has caused me problems with nvmuserrow in the past, requiring a jlink or openocd rig.

If you could read from 0 - 262144 in BOSSA and upload it. That would be effing great.

@Dougiejones

Anyone fancy trying this?

ONLY PEOPLE WITH VOL+ STRAP FITTED NEED APPLY!

This UF2 (going to be 0.9.7 once finished) has a new feature.

Hold vol+ for 5 seconds, you SHOULD see a rapid confirm LED flash and the chip will start blinking out payload numbers...
1 blink = payload 1
2 blinks = payload 2
etc

Press vol+ again to store, chip reboots and launches your selected payload and if you reboot simple-uf2, it will show the currently selected payload on the screen.

Someone give it a try pretty please.

---Deleted... Updated. Check my later post.

Thanks for your great work.

One Question: Whats the offset for change the mode with hex editor? In your tutorial in the first post you said you are going to release it but i can‘t find it :) Would be great if you could add it so i can change the mode without soldering a switch at the trinket.

For Trinket/rebug is 4B00 in 0.9.6 :)
