Hello guys as the title say is it really possible to dump a save from flashcard let say from r4i sdhc 3ds rts game saves to the sd card without using any computer
and after that send that save back to the flashcard after you are done with it. If it works how does it work and if not tell me why it that would not work?

Thanks for taking your time and reading this guys

:D

It should be possible? I believe most R4s saves DS game save data in .sav so you can probably just put the microSD from the R4 to the phone to possibly backup it. I used to do this to transfer some files from my phone to my 3DS and it worked just fine, no problems ever occurred.

Use your smartphone. Why not a PC?
Imagen you are at a situation where their is no pc and let say you wanna modify your save file. The save file is saved at your flashcard but that software that is used for editing the save is on the 3ds sd card. What would you do to solve this problem

Idea #1 (recommended): Wait until you get access to a PC with SD-card reader.

Idea #2: If the target SD inside the console is a micro-SD, a compatible phone/tablet (like already suggested) could do this.

Idea #3: Mmmh. I think this is possible only with the 3DS.
In theory it should be possible to access the files on the R4 micro-SD with software; however I don’t know any 3DS app that will do this.
TWiLight Menu++ can access the micro-SD inside some flashcarts, but as far as I know won’t allow you to copy files (not a file manager).
I have an idea how to do this without software to access the micro-SD inside the R4, but it is a very bad one and did not even try it.

This doesn't make any sense. Why would the software used for editing the save be on the 3DS SD card? To be clear, we are talking about a DS game on the flashcard, right? Because 3DS games will never, ever run from an R4.

Anyway, if you have a cell phone running an FTP client, then you could in theory run a homebrew FTP daemon in DS mode from the R4 cart, transfer the save data to the phone, and then run ftpd on the 3DS, and transfer the save back to the 3DS SD card.

not exactly when you set up twilight++ for use with cfw alongside a flashcard you literally need to set it up on the console and the flashcart so its likely just switching to the twilight++ files on the flashcard and not reading it via the console at that point

I'm not really sure about this. TWiLight Menu ++ can somehow access the flashcart's SD. But it's not usable to copy anything. My idea to actually copy files is a different and I don't want to write it into the forum because it's really bad.

This is what I got in a quick test with an Acecard 2i with NO TWiLight Menu files on it's micro-SD (only on the console SD):

I kinda figured out with godmod9 that u can use it copy and paste the save from the flash card to the system changing sd card and than change the SD card back to its original and move the save file to the sdcard
