I'm currently running 6.2 FW, I have used an SX pro and have auto RCM enabled and backed up my nand. only software i installed was a retroarch NSP which i have now deleted, no pirated games on my sd card except for a backup i made of my mario kart 8.

I'm not banned yet because i just accessed the e-shop with no problems so can i just disable auto rcm and play my retail games online as if i never hacked my switch?

It's up to you if you want to roll the dice. I took my switch online today for the first time since 5.1 came out. Never installed any nsp. Just played xci games with sxos. I only took it online to transfer my data to new switch. As soon as it connected online I got the ban message. Which I half expected and thats why I bought a new switch for myself for christmas to take online. But dont let anybody fool ya. You do any hacking at all and you will be banned. Maybe not right away but eventually you will.

Its the fact that you have to pay to play online that makes it risky, I don't wanna spend £18 for the nintendo online service then get banned straight away.
Looks like buying a second switch is the only solution.

Maybe if I had restored my clean nand backup first it would be different but I'm guessing I got flagged a long time ago and just havent been online to see the message. Constantly flashing my nand is not really an option for me just to go online.

"only software i installed was a retroarch NSP"
do you have clean NAND?
if no, don't expect to stay not banned for long.

Well i never played online much before i hacked the switch, the console was gathering dust for a while before i bought my sx pro.
I guess i just want the best of both worlds. Maybe i'll pick up a second switch late next year, i think a price drop will be on the horizon.

You have a clean nand or you think you have a clean nand because you uninstalled the only NSP you remember installing? Did you remove all traces? Delete your activity log? Did you backup from a clean nand? Are you positive your nand is clean? Just because you didn't get banned right away, doesn't mean you won't get hit in a wave. Make sure it's 100% clean before connecting to Ninty. But it seems you already connected to Ninty so, good luck to you.

Go buy a new console then. Online is shit though... all games are plagued with dc’s and lag. I highly recommend pirating, fuck online. Buy yourself a nice 200-400gb microsd card, enjoy the single player goodness. If you want to play online, get PS4 or PC.

Except Splatoon, Smash and Mario Kart aren't on PS4/PC.

Too bad you didn't use emunand so far no reports with that , the best solution now is setup emunand without launching sx OS (cfw)

You said you installed RetroArch NSP but deleted it before you went online? That's a red flag right there, if your not banned yet, expect one pretty much soon, not all cases are the same so some will be banned sooner while others much later, even playing XCI files gets you banned like one of the members who replied here. Just too risky to be playing backups, installing NSP's then going online even if deleting NSP installed games.

Since you weren't using EmuNAND and just SXOS CFW, what you should have done before you went online is to restore your clean NAND backup, just deleting RetroArch wont remove all traces that this was ever installed.

Using SXOS, the ideal solution would be, restore your clean NAND backup then create EmuNAND as hidden partition (alternative is EmuNAND as files on SD CARD).

OFW: Use this as your legit game cart playing, eShop and other legal stuff.
EmuNAND: Use this for all your backup games, nsp installs, and homebrew stuff and STAY OFFLINE.

I have the above setup and not banned, I could get banned by I think my chances are pretty low, as far as OFW is concerned, it doesn't know I have EmuNAND. But any method is not 100% proof.

If your using homebrew stuff, it's recommended to have your SD CARD as FAT32 as using exFAT can corrupt your SD CARD, from what I've read, this only affects for those messing around with homebrew, however playing XCI and installing game NSP doesn't seem to corrupt cards that are exFAT, but anything is possible, but exFAT seems to be the most common file format that causes card corruption. If you have EmuNAND as hidden partition and your card gets corrupted, only the active partition is corrupted, simply just reformat the SD CARD again and start over, your hidden EmuNAND will still be intact.

Quick question did you were able to activate sxos and emunand first without launching cfw? So you can have 100% clean nand

Personally, I'd say that if you ever plan on going online again after using CFW, installing backups, etc, you better have a squeaky clean boot0/1 backup, nand backup, and had been on airplane mode with all wifi networks forgotten while you were using the system.

of course you aren't guaranteed anything even if you take precations like that, as who knows what Nintendo can actually determine even with those two reflashed to a state before anything against their EULA/ToS was ran, but I would think that that's the bare minimum you should do if you use CFW with any slight intention of going back to a stock experience and not getting banned

I was launching homebrew long before emunand was an option. I'm pretty sure I got banned during the last ban wave and just hadn't been online to see. That's all I'm saying. I played online with CFW all the time before that and I was thinking i was good. But we know better now. What are we going to know in a few more months? You only think your safe right now. Just wait

Yes, I had my SX Pro since day one but never had a Switch until not too long ago I found one for really cheap where the backlight wasn't working on the LCD screen. I replaced the LCD screen with a generic one on ebay and it was working again :)

All I did was a factory reset and setup my profile as per normal, then I used the dongle and hold VOL+ and Power Button with the Jig, it boots into the SXOS boot emu, from here I just saved the license file to SD CARD for offline activation via their website, then proceeded to do a NAND backup and then EmuNAND setup.
So my Switch never saw CFW, just the SXOS boot menu, as far as the OFW is concerned, it never saw CFW.
