Hi all,

I have Unity3d 2018.2.0b3 and the Nintendo Swich development pack installed, I've installed the Nintendo Switch SDK but i get the following error when i try to build the project.

"Could not find file "C:\NintendoDev\NintendoSDK16.7_NXaddon\NintendoSDK\Resources\SpecFiles\Application.aarch64.lp64.nmeta". at System.IO.FileStream..ctor (System.String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, Boolean anonymous, FileOptions options) [0x00209] in /Users/builduser/buildslave/mono/build/mcs/class/corlib/System.IO/FileStream.cs:305".

I have a "Application.aarch64.lp64.meta" meta file in the folder (notice its ".meta" not ".nmeta") If i rename the file I get a different error

"Selecting the node Core in the .nmeta file caused an error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object UnityEngine.GUIUtility:ProcessEvent(Int32, IntPtr)"

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Uhhh, yeah, AFAIK, You can't have the Official Switch SDK without being an official nintendo developer.
If you are, this is totally the wrong place to ask, as Unity and Nintendo have a developer's Portal specifically for issues like this.
if you aren't... Well, this is totally the wrong place to ask, since you're pirating the SDK.

Protip: you're totally allowed to discuss pirated stuff here. You're just not allowed to link to it.

Actually, this forum is the perfect place to ask this type of question.
I also have downloaded the leaked copy of the SDK and am running into this same problem. I've installed the proper Unity beta and also added Switch platform support, but am getting this error when trying to build from within Unity.
Can anybody help us get past this issue?

Id just like to ask a question about making games for Switch.
I would like to go the legal way so do I first have to apply for the dev program at NIntendo?
Because I cannto find the Switch export option in Unity. :)

The standard process is that you must register as a developer with Nintendo > wait for approval > then request access to the Switch section via email > download the SDK/tools once approved > download proper Unity engine > add Switch Platform support so you can export to .NSP > then purchase a Switch Dev kit (~$500USD) > and then once that arrives - you can start actually working on your game..

Or - you can just download the leaked SDK/Unity and start developing and testing immediately (while you wait for all the approval/legal processes to take place) - which is what I am attempting to do. Unfortunately, I can't seem to figure out how to get the Nintendo SDK to play nicely with Unity yet and I don't really want to wait months for Nintendo approval to get started developing.

Are you using the 2016 version of the SDK?, that's the version I have. I think there was another version from march this year (it was a 1.1gb download from what i remember) I cant find this version.

Yeah developing for nintendo is a ordeal, approval? Forced to have a secure room or room, with a lock, so you don't get robbed the sdk!, and I'm going to mention the best ones, already have development projects that prove that you're not a bad coder for example.... It's laborious.

Never found an answer unfortunatley.

AFAIK, the leaked sdk doesn’t have unity plugins

The unity plugin is seperate from the sdk, its pretty easy to find.

Other people have tried this months ago, it's not going to work, you would need the FULL SDK including the unity plugins. The leaked SDK are only parts of the SDK. If you're a registered Nintendo Developer, you would need to go through a process to get access to these unity plugins.

He was assuming you had a link to the UNITY SDK or the 1.1GB version Switch SDK.

It's against the rules to share links to copyrighted content...
