Yes. An alternative is to use ChoiDujourNX to apply exFAT to any firmware you feed it.

Guys can I able to play my Octopath traveler on 3.0.2 ? Like is there available CFW that allow me to play this game without updating my Switch. I currently own a physical copy of the game and my switch is old model + 3.0.2 . Wonder should I wait more because both games and console are collecting dust bc of the wait for CFW.

New here and on Switch univ.... First of all a huge thanks to this awesome community!!

some quick questions... i got a switch 1.0.0 supposedly new from ebay (said he was planning to keep it, but the seller took a photo of vers # so ran it once - or downgraded it)

1) if i use bootmiiv2 to check switches would it show 1 (retail) or 0, and which one would I expect for new/untouched and for downgraded?

2) Obviously i will backup everything, keys and Nand etc but which is best method for someone on 1.0.0 to upgrade (temporarily)?

1. I'm not 100% sure but I think it should show one fuse
2. ChoiDujourNX
3. You don't need to buy a jig or device (?) but you need something to enter RCM with, which is where the jig would come in, and something to send payloads with such as a computer/phone with a USB-C cable or dongle/modchip
4. If you backup boot0/boot1 as well as eMMC raw GPP or downgrade back to firmware 1.0 with ChoiDujour/ChoiDujourNX
5. exFAT is not supported on firmware 1.0 but is supported on all other firmwares (just not immediately). They have to be individually patched to support exFAT which you can do with ChoiDujourNX. As for the gamecart slot, there is one update for it on firmwares 4.0 and above that renders it unusable on firmwares below 4.0. Depending on the CFW you use, there are ways you can prevent it from being updated. However all of the methods involve breaking the slot meaning it cannot be used on firmwares above 4.0 in order to prevent it from being irreversibly updated

The only CFW that supports an external HDD is SX OS, but its better to use FAT32 anyways since using exFAT can corrupt your SD card or even possibly your hard drive. And there are multiple ways to bypass the 4 GB limitation on FAT32.

I'm injecting my ReiNX payload with my machine. It injects, ReiNX splash screen comes up...and then I go into the main Switch screen. Holding VOL-/VOL+/Both does not get me into that text Hekate menu.

I'm on 4.1 right now and did no OFW updates after doing the update.

What am I doing wrong that I can't get into the Hekate/ReiNX menu?

First of all, you don't install any sort of CFW with the current exploit. Secondly, ReiNX and Hekate are two different things. Thirdly, ReiNX doesn't have a menu.

If you want the Hekate menu, you have to send Hekate as a payload or if you're feeling fancy, you can put the Hekate payload on the root of your SD card and send ReiNX so it automatically chainloads into Hekate.

1. Updates are universal and nothing else gets shared during that process so that's a negative
2. Only difference between pirated content and legitimate games are certificates/tickets which are only required for online play so thats another nope

Backed up my NAND with Hekate(latest version 4.5) and dumped BIS keys. Using hacdiskmount, I checked PRODINFO with bis_key_00 from device.keys and it fails. Is my nand dump bad or am I doing something wrong?

Nevermind. I was copying the entire key. I noticed that the key was getting cut off in the field so I copied the other half of the key in the lower field and it worked.

how does SX OS's new EmuNand work? Can you go online normally and not get banned while you are on emunand? ( assuming you aren't playing pirated games )

Hello to all!

I bought Nintendo Switch which i un-patched. It is on OFW 4.1.

My friend bought the same console from the same shop 2 months ago. He said that if I get this unpatched version I am always on the safe side because nintendo cannot patch it unless console is returned to factory. Back then, He gave me instructions to update the console to the latest version via OTA update and then just follow the simple metod to boot into CFW via SX PRO dongle.

Today I got SX Dongle with licence. I wanted to confirm that the above method is still working.But now friend told me that I am too late because the 6.2 firmware patched all the consoles and I cannot update console to previos version 6.1 without burning some fuses. He also told me my 4.1 FW will not recognize SD 128GB and needs update. And if I download the exFAT update I will also update Switch to 6.2.

Do i need to make NAND backup and why? Switch asked me to backup joycons and did not recognize SD card - probably exFAT update or something? What are fuses and do i need to backup them so they dont get burned? I really dont understand this one.

Can someone please tell me step by step procedure on what to do now?
