This makes me wish that CFW developers would implement an optional feature that displays a message whenever an application tries to do something dangerous(like modify the BIS), and allows you to either allow or deny said application access. Something similar to GodMode9's permission system.

I'm porting McAfee to switch aright now.

I remember the vitas first malicious dumps. Mai started scanning for that kind of code. I hope tinfoil and zero2 get that feature. The Dump of Pikachu I got is an xci at 4.51gbs. I wonder if it's safe.

Thanks for the warning though. I installed eevee to make sure it was legit, got the Pikachu from the same trusted source. So I think I'm good. Have a nand backup at all times

I agree with you but I don't consider this a fair analogy. Breaking into a house even though it's open still is illegal.
If someone offers to sell an universal key (i.e. you can enter any house), you buy it, and you use it for illegal things, it's still your responsibility, not the seller's.

The brick NSP itself might be illegal, but it's not the point: the user chose to download a pirated backup of a game (which is illegal if they don't have the original game), and they used it in a way not planned by the device manufacturer. It's their sole responsibility.
Downloading leaked games is just dumb even for pirates, but world wide damages to our consoles is a bigger issue than that, its no different than someone uploading a virus to the public. If this was an act of justice to pirates then the distributors are more criminal here. Let Nintendo do the punishing without destroying our property.

I don't defend OG per say, I'm just emphasizing that people were warned several time to not install things from random uploader AND to always have a backup. It is not blaming them, it's just a statement that they were warned and perfectly aware that there is risk in hacking a console and pirating game they don't own. It doesn't mean they deserved to brick their console either.

I installed an Eevee let’s go nsp from that dark site. It was exactly 4gb and it seems fine. Started it and everything.

Yeah, it was the Pikachu version that had the brick code.

Sidenote, it looks like OG was "suspended" from temp. Good.
His profile pic looks awfully familiar I think he was the same guy that would make threads bashing the sxos

his other partner did. They made a whole long list of "why is TX evil" bla bla bla, even nitpicking the ridiculous little details just to spite TX.

Ironically, despite all their hate for TX, they were actually using TX's tactics (or at least one of their tactics) by bricking Switches. Except that in the case of these two, they went for the jugular and claimed that it was a harmless prank. Denial of the most moronic level (blaming the victims).

Twas just a joke, like McAfee.
Would be nice though. As long as it's free and doesn't need any sort of licence.

I wouldn't say it's that ironic. As it's not the actual CFW developer bricking people's switches. And to give it to TX (yes this will probably be one of the only positive things I say about them so treasure it and use it against me if you want to.) At least with their brick code you could actually get out of it with putting in a code. With this the average user can't recover from it.

I've mainly changed from that though. I don't think I'm as salty as I was a month ago and don't get as aggressive as I did. I do regret certain aspects of the "hate list" (e.g the nitpicking of certain versions without any evidence to back it up). However I still stand by some of my points (e.g EmuNAND being fake, scummy DRM, etc.) I think I've could've presented it better and not just be a salty "free CFW" fanboy. I should've put what good they've done also into the argument (otherwise it just looks like a biast argument.) With this behind me though I may revisit the "everything wrong with TX" one day. However that won't be until they've truly fucked up once again. And I'll take the good they've done into consideration.

Creditable has been suspended and JellyPerson has been banned.

Did anyone have this issue - I downloaded a version and it wouldn't transfer completely to my sd card, but still took up 4gb of space? Plus it doesn't show up on the sd card so I can't delete it which is a bummer!

Surprise! surprise! hypocrite white knights. Makes them even worse than tx. Atleast tx wouldn't brick people's switches just for a laugh.
