Just do a system update. There's another method but it's not worth the hassle. How can i add friends or go online on the 3DS whitout having to do an systemupdate ? I'm on the latest cfw.
If i do that ,i don't loose my cfw?Just do a system update. There's another method but it's not worth the hassle.
I did the luma update but i still got the error code "002-0119 !You need to install a cia file(the friend system module for better understanding) not linkable here due to being copyrighted stuff. There is no reason at all to not update
You have to update the SYSTEM, not Luma, that much should be obvious to even newbies... If you have b9s or even a9lh installed, then updating from the system settings is 100% safe, you lose absolutely nothing, it's even right there in the guide for CFW. Update the system and it will work just fine.I did the luma update but i still got the error code "002-0119 !
Do the update in Sys 11.2.0-35E or in Sys E 11.2.0-35E ?You have to update the SYSTEM, not Luma, that much should be obvious to even newbies... I will not list JPN, KOR, TWN, and CHN. You guys have fun with hanzi/kanji, kata/hiragana, hangul.
Edit: SysE means you're booting SysNAND with EmuNAND 1 FIRM. Why do you have EmuNAND stuff?
No, if you have B9S and Luma 9.1, then it's safe to update.Don't i loose my cfw when i do an system update? Getting confused.
Do i have to do the update in sysnand or emunand? Still worried of loosing the cfw.I reed a lot of warnings that if you update your 3DS ,you loose your cfw!No, if you have B9S and Luma 9.1, then it's safe to update.
Updating just the EmuNAND should be fine. EmuNAND isn't even needed anymore with Luma, so you don't have to worry about loosing cfw.Do i have to do the update in sysnand or emunand? Still worried of loosing the cfw.
So what update is it then that makes you loose the cfw? And how do i update, go to system settings? Sorry for all the questions.Updating just the EmuNAND should be fine. EmuNAND isn't even needed anymore with Luma, so you don't have to worry about loosing cfw.
That was just a small issue with 11.8 and Luma 9.0, but it was fixed in Luma 9.1So what update is it then that makes you loose the cfw? And how do i update, go to system settings? Sorry for all the questions.
You can update both SysNAND and EmuNAND to 11.8.0-41E, but why are you using EmuNAND? Unless you do dev work messing with CTRNAND stuff, EmuNAND is not needed in this day and age for the 3DS.Do i have to do the update in sysnand or emunand? Still worried of loosing the cfw.
You will not lose your custom firmware when updating to version 11.8.0-41E for the 3DS firmware. So what update is it then that makes you loose the cfw? Sorry for all the questions.
So i'm on Emu 11.2.0-35E , go to system settings and do the update? I also just noticed that the cia's installed on sysnand or not showing in emunand is that normal? I'm new to this cfw thing....That was just a small issue with 11.8 and Luma 9.0, but it was fixed in Luma 9.1

OKAY. How good is your knowledge about computers?
You put Windows on a hard drive as your main operating system, which is like your SysNAND for the 3DS.
Then, you install Linux Ubuntu/Mint/Manjaro/whatever on a second partition on that same hard drive; that's like EmuNAND.
Your Windows side does not recognize your Linux stuff. Technically, your Linux could see and explore files in Windows but for the sake of argument, they're both separate entities residing on the same hard drive but don't acknowledge one another.
That's what having SysNAND and EmuNAND is like for the 3DS. You install a set of programs/titles/games on one XxxNAND, but the other XxxNAND does not have a record of having installed those.
This is one of the reasons why we're asking why are you using EmuNAND when it's not typically needed for modern 3DS CFW usage.
That will happen because your SysNAND and EmuNAND are linked. In other words, they share the same exact Nintendo 3DS folder.Everytime i switch from emunand to sysnand i have to unwrap the installed cia's again, so on SYSnand i go to system settings and do the update? I just want to go online to add friends.Sorry for being a pain in the ass
