Hey guys,
anyone ever encountered the problem that you cant play a game because you have not a linked account on your console? To me it happened with Pianista. It requires to have a linked Nintendo Account on your console and will not start without it. Anyone know how to bypass it? Does the game have some kind of always "online" protection?

thanks in advance!

I don't know but I updated one of my consoles today to bypass that limitation and to be able to play games with firmware 6 requirements. I'm debating on doing the same on my other switch.

ok thanks. time to link my console to a nintendo account before the console gets banned! appreciate your help!

Please let us know how that works for you. I'd like to link my console to a Nintendo account too before it gets banned. The thing is, I already have nsp files installed on it so I don't know if I will be banned immediately if I try to link an account or not.

Another game that won't run unless you have a Nintendo account link is Slice, Dice and Rice.

i will but i will most likely hold out a bit longer. i did not go online so far with the console after i "hacked" it. im pretty sure the next time i show up online that it will be my time to get banned in the next banwave (if they do it in waves).

i could see it coming that in the future nintendo requires a linked account for every eshop game as an additional "security" measure. and i wonder if homebrew apps will be able to bypass it then if it gets a bigger thing.

I read something about having a dummy account you can put to to the Switch using the devmenu, but I don't see enough proof of that actually working. I just updated my Switch to 6.0.1 and I'm tempted to attempt to link an account already and see if it will be banned or not. I'm worried if I will hold it out longer that Nintendo will soon find an immediate way to ban a "hacked" Switch (though I think they already do).

Fallout Shelte also has this problem. If you've already installed nsps I'd just make an account just to trash it for this so you can access those games

I'm really considering doing that since not making your Switch get banned is basically being banned since you are avoiding on making the system offline most of the time anyway.

It really depends on what you want to do. You can switch between online and offline if you have a clean nand backup and maintain it properly. It's just tedious. There's also just waiting it out until potentially safer online methods are available, but those aren't 100% effective forever usually if ever. You can also still play lan games if you're banned with banned and non banned players you just have to follow instructions carefully

Well, I got a used Switch and there are already installed nsp files on it right when I just got it so even though I still made a nand backup I think it's still useless to restore it just to avoid the ban from Nintendo.

I'm tempted to wait out until there are safer methods to get a dummy Nintendo account somehow but at the same time, I'm worried NIntendo might block it out faster than they can do it now.

Thanks for the links. I didn't know there is a way to play exclusively for banned players. Have you tried it and how's the community?

I've tried lan and it's worked but it doesn't work for non lan from my understanding, but you may be able to link it with some pc programs if people on both ends are savvy enough. Also bans are tied to the console and most bans to a console also affect the user account.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Right now I currently haven't linked a nnid to my console just to prevent linking and banning of my other consoles

I am in the same boat. Prior using cfw and stuff I unlinked my Nintendo account but somehow never thought about leaving a dummy one on.

Now I have been thinking about a way to put one back on without risking a ban and I am wondering if anybody has attempted to create an account in a "healthy" unmodified switch and then transfer it over to the modded console by the account transfer tool thingy. I do not have two consoles and therefore have not used the feature - so I might not really know what I am talking about here, but I was always under the impression that it is not necessary to go online to transfer an account between systems.

Would be nice to know if someone has attempted it already and could offer more details.

You can either create an account you don't care about being banned, stay offline and be safe with a clean nand backup and just not have these few games, or take the risk and add your main nintendo account and hope not to be banned.
so are those few games worth banning your console and/or linked account? That's as of now though in the future they could have a workaround but I doubt it

Copy 80...10 and 80...11 in SYSTEM/save from your nand backup or from someone else who can link their account to your current SYSTEM/save.

Enjoy.

Hey, thanks for your contribution. Sadly, I have been trying to "decipher" your solution with no luck. I managed to find old posts including some references to what you mentioned but it was in relation to the stuff people did with early switch firmware and I must say I am struggling to find out what to do exactly... Would you be able to offer more information or alternatively point us in the right direction? Thanks.

HacDiskMount can mount Switch's SYSTEM partition as a disk with your Switch's biskey 2.

I really wanted to play Pianista too. I never went online, and I think one game is not worth the ban, so I'll just delete de nsp and forget it (and play Yomawari instead).

Although I would dearly want a solution for this too... But flashing back to the virgin nand and then doing the flash all over again is just too much of a task and a huge risk for just a game or two. Hopefully there can be a more stable and a easier solution in future for this....
