Noob here. I installed OFW from 4.1 to 5.1 using choidujournx and use RajNXv0751 as the CFW. I enabled autorcm, and i can't boot the switch.

Do i still need to jig to boot it to rcm?

Ok, i used tegrarcmGUI to boot up using Rajnx_ipl and it stuck at the nintendo logo.

So autoRCM has to be enabled if you don't want to burn fuses...
Does that mean, when booting into the normal OS even once, without rcm, it will burn all (previous firmware) fuses?

if the stock bootloader runs at all it will burn fuses. rcm prevents this.

I currently have two Nintendo Switches, one on 3.0.0 and one on the most recent firmware. My questions is how to I find or gain access to the system folder? Ive checked my sd card on the current firmware switch and theres no folder there. Is it located on the console itself? And if so how do I access this without hacking it?

You cannot access that folder without hacking the console (its stored in the eMMC SYS partition). In order to gain access to that folder, you must use hackdiskmount/memloader.

Thanks for the help Draxzelex, is there any other way to obtain firmware 6.0 without hacking my other console? Maybe someone could point me in the right direction of certain keywords that might work on google?

Pay attention to any coughing in the OP

The update just blocks enabling rcm mode using a modified joycon so if you use a jig or whatever to get into rcm then you're fine to update.

that’s not what the update does it’s just a side effect of a bad joycon mod and it happens anytime you try to update joycon firmware not just the latest update

My Switch is on 3.0.2, I want to reinstall the same firmware with this app so I can get exFAT support. But will that burn fuses if I don't use AutoRCM?

The only thing that will burn fuses is running a higher firmware than your fuse count with the stock bootloader.

Sorry for the noob questions, I'm still learning how all this stuff works.

I'd like to use this to patch my 4.1.0 for exFAT, and that's really all I want it for. Looking at the instructions on page 1, the only options I can apply are:
  1. Extract the UPDATE partition from an XCI image
    or
  2. xbins
I've attempted to use XCI Explorer to do #1, but there are only two items that say "update". One says "update.hfs0" and the other is a folder named "update" with what seems to be over a hundred individual .nca files. I have no idea what to do with any of these things, and there's no indication which of the hundred-odd .nca files is the one I want. Will the hfs0 file work, since it can be extracted? Earlier in the thread rajkosto mentioned using a command line to extract it, but I couldn't find mention of a command line, nor where to apply it or how using it would help differentiate one of these files from the hundreds of others around it.

Looking at the entire xbins file listing for switch doesn't appear to have anything relating to the update partition of an xci image for 4.1.0 or an archive of the SYSTEM:/Contents junk of someone's switch that I could download and apply.

Where can I find this stuff?

Help would be awesome.

The "hundred-odd" .NCA files are exactly what you are looking for.

Cheers, thanks!

Good to know, but all of them? Or just one hidden in the list? Is there a tool for extracting them all or do I need to use XCI Explorer to extract each one manually and then collect them in a zip, or something?

You need each and every single .NCA file, preferably in their own folder on the root of the SD card. For extracting them, hactool is the best one to extract it in my opinion but I usually just use xbins to obtain the firmware files rather than going through the trouble of extracting them from an .XCI file.

I updated with choidujournx but in the last step i didn't click on shutdown and it rebooted, it gave an error and i just turn it off.
Did i burn the fuses by not clicking on shutting down?
I still have autorcm on 6.0.1
