So, it only supports one controller at the time over bluetooth?
Does it work connecting an usb hub to the usb a port to connect more controllers?

The magic NS adapter has it's own bluetooth separate from the switch. (technically more than 1 controller can be synced to the adapter; but any of those still only control 1 player on the switch; so to play a two player game you need multiple adapters)

usb hubs do work on the switch. I have two unpowered 4 port usb hubs of the following specs: 1.1 and an 2.0.

I have used multiple magic ns adapters on them at the same time and had them work. I have also used them in combination with wired hori switch controllers.

Quick question , if the nsflash its connected when i place the switch in sleep mode it doesnt work when i turn it on , i hace to remove the ns magic adapter from the switch usb and plug it back in .
Is ther a way to leave the ns magic adapter connected to the switch , and that the ps4 joystick turn on the switch out of sleep mode , as the joycon did ?

I do not remember having this issue... I will try it out and see if I can replicate. What firmware version is your switch? and what firmware is your magic ns adapter?

edit: for the magic ns bringing the switch out of sleep mode. I don't think it can; neither can my licensed usb controllers: hori pokken controller, hori switch controller, or pdp wired switch controller.

edit2: Testing magic ns adapter for needing to remove each time to make work.
So my switch is on 5.1.0. (mine is not on the latest which is 6.0.1)
My magic ns adapter is on 1.23 (mine is not on the latest is 1.25)
It was connected to the official Nintendo Dock the entire time. The bottom of the two usb ports on the side were used for testing.
wii u pro controller was previously synced to magic ns adapter. I do not have a ps4 controller; so used a wii u controller for testing. However I do have other controllers to test with if you would like me to try those.

1. put switch into sleep mode
2. put magic ns adapter into switch (magic ns adapter is in red mode)
3. bring switch out of sleep mode
4. press a button on wii u controller and it resyncs to switch and works.
5. put switch back into sleep mode without removing magic ns and then brought back switch back up and pressed a button on wii u remote and it resynced back up and works fine.

repeated test after changing adapter to purple mode
1. put switch into sleep mode
2. put magic ns adapter into switch (magic ns adapter is in purple mode)
3. bring switch out of sleep mode
4. press a button on wii u controller and it resyncs to switch and works.
5. put switch back into sleep mode without removing magic ns and then brought back switch back up and pressed a button on wii u remote and it resynced back up and works fine.

Conclusion: you should not need to remove magic ns and plug back into switch dock for the adapter to continue working.

Troubleshooting tips in no particular order: things you can try if it's not working (may require stuff you don't have):
  • try updating firmware on the adapter: (I do not know if you can downgrade firmwares... so keep that in mind: mayflash only has latest on website 1.25 at writing, not sure where to find other firmware versions or if they can be uploaded or linked to on gbatemp)
  • try updating firmware on the switch (downgrading and upgrading switch firmwares can be a hassle... do a lot of reading before deciding.)
  • try a different supported controller; or putting the ns adapter in a different switch mode, purple/red are your options. Purple supports rumble and gyro.
  • if you have a wall powered usb hub try it. perhaps the dock is having issues powering the adapter.
  • try a different magic ns adapter. Perhaps yours is problematic
  • try a different switch dock (but use the same power supply)
  • use a different power supply (but use your original dock) The purpose of these last few is to try to decide if you have defective equipment... so try and narrow down what is causing the issue.
  • have someone else on this forum who has a ps4 controller and magic ns adapter repeat the tests I did with it. perhaps the ps4 controller has problems resyncing after sleep mode. If so this should be reported to mayflash and perhaps they can address it in a future firmware update.

Primarily I have used it in red mode without the rumble.
For now I'll leave it in purple mode and see if I run into any issues while using it.

edit: purple mode under 1.23 was causing problems for my brother's wireless 360 controller adapter (we both use the adapter; him for 360 and me for wii u... family war? JK). So now currently under latest mayflash 1.25 on purple mode. No problems yet encountered from sleep mode and the 360 controller now works under purple mode (except rumble doesn't seem to). I can feel rumble on the wii u pro controller; but it is not strong.

Has anyone tried an arcade stick with this dongle? I’ve got a x-arcade solo tank stick.
Nope i dindt tried it , but i have a solotuion to keep it plug and off .
I connected an usb extension to the side dock and then connect de magic ns to the extension .
In this way i dont have to be be plugin and unplugin de magic ns from the switch , it sticks always there .

I forgot to report back, I got this adapter a few weeks ago and my arcade stick works fine. Totally worth it, even if I do have to use multiple adapters. Xarcade to serial to ps2 to xbox360 to magicns.

Bought this adapter and it works like a charm with my trusty Dual Shock 3... BUT: Is it somehow possible to wake the console up from sleep mode with it?

Hey. Just found solution for this problem. Just downgrade Magic NS software to 1.12, you can find this software on MAYFLASH się. To downgrade software just hold shift when pressing update button in app. Worked for me. Cheers

Downgrade it to 1.12 but didnt work , after i put the switch in sleep mode, after 20 seconds the violet light os mayflash start blinking , and does so every 40 second . I guess that the switch keeps powering the usb port and thats why mayflash keep flashing and looking for a signal .

I fix it with an extension cable , it seems that the extension drain some usb power and when i turn it of , there no violet blinking light !
