After five years, players can now get the final achievement in The Stanley Parable

Five years ago, the wacky comedic walking simulator game made using Valve's Source Engine The Stanley Parable released on PC. While this normally wouldn't be much of a big deal, one of the achievements titled Go Outside is now finally available through legitimate means. The Stanley Parable has multiple quirky achievements, with some of them requiring players to play the game for an entire Tuesday, clicking on a door an amount of times, and having players mess with the config of the game to get an "unachievable" achievement. However, the most notable one the game has is the aforementioned Go Outside achievement, which requires players to have played the game once, and then not opened it again until five years have passed. Since the game launched on October 17, 2013, and today is October 17, 2018, a full five years have passed, meaning you can now get this elusive achievement without cheating for the very first time. If you're interested in grabbing it, make sure it really has been five years since you last played, otherwise...you'll be forced to come back on October 17, 2023 to ensure you have another chance at it.

New Year's Eve 2020 is when I'll be able to get it... I haven't played since 2015-12-30 ^_^
Somewhere around the same I suppose...

Wait no, I tested stuff a year ago and ran the game. Fuck. I'm good for a few years.

This is really cool. I think it's really interesting how this interaction with real-life some games have and how they work out well.

Why put this kind of achievement that spans 5 years? useless... it says play the game and let time passby (5years) without playing it... i dont think its worth the wait... if you really love a certain game, you will play it frequently... but if you dont have any interest on the game, you will leave it, so for those who want to get the achievement it means they are already bored on the game because they decided to wait for 5 years to play it again... opposite if you really love the game you will always play it no matter what...
What a silly move about the game developer... they encourage players to dont play the game for 5 years...
