Only used homebrew. Never pirated on switch, never had crashes from homebrew, have been fine for months - imo either telemetry is being more closely inspected or I was on a known list but was not banned immediately due to nintendo focussing on piracy. just my two cents

my switch has a clean virgin nand , my plan is dump it , and save it into the pc, keep it safe , install cfw , use it always on airplane mode and no wifi settings configured until december. by december i will restore my clean nand . meanwhile use it with emus hombrew and maybe xci . i know theres a ban risk but , this can be the safest way ??

Actually this is the safest way to use a hacked Switch. The ban risk with this method is nearly 0%.

The only safer method that I can think of is what I plan to do. Wait until proper emunand on SD, then a two SD two nand system. Vanilla sysNAND and SD for normal online use, and an emuNAND SD for offline homebrew/hacking. And avoiding autoRCM and sticking with a jig and dongle.

you could mod your right joy con by adding a tactile button on the back, when you press it the correct pins are shorted just like when you use a jig. no more insert/remove joy con/jig.

I did that and it's very handy.

btw, you could also use a reed switch and a magnet instead of the tactile button

Additional Comments

This is what I call the "iffy" Switch. At one point it had updated from 5.0.2 to 5.1.0, but I restored the nand backup I had made and started back at 5.0.2. Upgraded to 5.1.0 again, then official 6.0, then 6.0.1, all officially in OFW. For 6.0 and 6.0.1 I had the dongle and jig ready and quickly enabled AutoRCM on reboot (no additional fuses blown). I installed emuNAND on 6.0.1 using SX OS 2.0.1, it kinda works (loading any xci seems to crash, but I'm mainly testing to see if the presence of emuNAND will cause a ban, so I didn't pursue further).

So, I'm on 6.0.1, have emuNAND installed, only six burnt fuses, AutoRCM, booting into OFW, updated some games (that had been loaded as xci with firmware 5.1.0 and SX OS 1.9), still have eShop access as of now. Will update if that changes.

Bro I was one of the first in the community to do the Reed switch mod. I just removed it and use a jig because it's easier and safer to carry that around rather than a strong magnet.
In fact I made a thread documenting it. I believe I was the first to make a thread showing how to do it.

Still not banned after 4 monthes of using the SX OS online, updated the games through eshop normally, didn't install their CFW nor AutoRCM and played as you'd do on a legit console.
Not using stealth mode.
Applying headers for every game I use (Zelda and Ys headers for Card1 and 2 respectively)
Only XCI's no NSP, no games with DLC included or stuff like that.

I find it suspcious that actually there's nothing they both really did to be banned. But they used AutoRCM to boot OFW.
Would that not be a hint that Nintendo is detecting this and bans people for that?
I have my switch modded for about 2 weeks now and check every other day if I was banned.
Using SX, emunand, 2 sd cards, cfw not online.

I will report back if something bad happens....

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Nevermind, I didn't see that at the first place.

Yeah that was my bad I did ignore the warnings of not going online while running CFW, but I don't care at this point, that switch will just be used for whatever else. I think the only thing I'm salty about is losing my save data for octopath which I started playing before I was banned, but whatever I wasn't too far in to it so I can easily catch back up. I do however find it a bit ridiculous they ban you from eshop, game updates, and system updates, they have every right to do so but it seems to be a double edged sword for them, sure they get a hacked switch off of their servers but on the other hand they turn that switch in to essentially, a piracy/homebrew machine as there's really nothing else worth doing with it. I'm sure that's been said before here and in other places but it rings true.

It's been a while. Just checking in to say I'm still not banned. At this point, I think unless I wave a flag saying "BAN ME" in front of Reggie's face, I'm not going to be. Still doing the same as usual, no change in my online or gaming patterns.

Splatoon 2 , hollow knight and I don’t use 90dns
You are the second person to report a ban after touching Splatoon 2 with a save manager. Now while I'm not saying you modified the save file, its possible Nintendo put in extra protection into this game to deter hackers. After all, Splatoon 2 automatically uploads the save file whenever you connect online (its how the online for the games operate) whether or not you are actively playing it.

I didn’t modified but I remember something weird... when the game asked me Treat or Trick for the splatfest (I thought that answered a day before) but choose again (I think it was because of that and if so) is legit the ban

Splatoon 2 has a lot of layers of save checks now. A lot of stuff can flag it and they would automatically know you've hacked the system and, potentially, the saves to cheat. Due to the issues assholes have caused by actually cheating, they've probably moved on to just outright removing all flagged saves/consoles.

So you kinda got a bad draw on that one.
