Hey thanks for the response. I guess I got a bit confused. I was thinking of going the route of being able to shut it off when not in use and just use the jig/payload injector when I want to turn it on and play it.

Right now it is in sleep mode with auto RCM on. The injector has the ReiNX bin written to it and I was curious if I can shut off auto RCM and just use the jig/payload combo to test out etc.
My previous statement still stands. At least the first half of it with regards to your question.

Ahh I just re-read that and it makes sense. I can shut it off with the dongle so I will give it a try. Right now I am looking into a error I am getting when writing the ReiNX.bin to the injector so will have to see what is going on or look for some help. It is saying my verify failed and shows the # of page errors and byte errors after I try and write to it.

*** Edit *** I just closed the program and tried writing it again and it seems ok. I will try it all out now and thanks again for the help!

@Draxzelex thank you again for clearing that up.

I sent over Hekate first and shut off auto RCM and then powered the Switch down. I tried the payload injector and it worked first try when I sent over ReiNX....just curious what would happen if it was to ever boot into stock firmware without the jig etc obviously....would it burn fuses etc?

Thank you again and I am happy the injector works as well as it does. Very convenient to not need to be near a pc etc (=

Hey im on 5.1.0 I remembered me hardmodding my switch awhile ago but choose to leave it alone. Im wondering is it possible to now be able to access the hombrew launcher once the system is in sleep mode without me needing my pc?

If your firmware is higher than your fuse count, you will burn fuses to compensate for the reduced fuse count in comparison to the firmware you are running.

You can install an internal trinket or use a phone to send a payload instead of your PC.

hi. will jailbreak my switch soon with SX OS. planning on deleting my profile first and reformatting my switch so my nintendo account would not be associated with the jailbreak. Is there a way I can keep my save files on the switch?

Thanks

The saves aren't tied to the account, they're tied to the console.

I have 2 questions:

Can you always downgrade to your original firmware with choidujour even if you already installed 2 newer ones with it? (Without burning fuses)

With SX OS emunand there is no longer a need for autorcm to avoid burning fuses, am I right?

Looking for some advice if anyone can be bothered! I am on 5.1 with SX OS and would like to update to the latest fw to play starlink. Don't really care about burning fuses. Anyway, can i just boot the switch normally and update and then switch off and use the dongle etc to enter cfw and all my nsp/xci files will be okay? I'm currently on 1.9 sxos and it's working fine - would I need to update to the latest version?
Appreciate any help!

Hey guys, first of all id like to give big credit to all those that reply to this thread.

Two questions

1. My switch had the blue screen of death and was sent back to Nintendo for repair. The device was unmodded. They have since repaired the device and sent back the same device. Could the switch now be patched to stop modding?
2. I know this has been debated extensively, but if I were to use a switch in say 'stealth mode' for CFW and online gaming legit copies in OFW. Would this be considered relatively safe?

Thanks

Yes and you don't need AutoRCM regardless if you are using EmuNAND or not as long as the SysNAND isn't running a higher firmware than the fuse count.

If you don't care about fuses or downgrading, you can just update to the latest firmware. The exploit will still work however I am unsure if all CFW work on firmware 6.0.1. Hence why I would recommend using ChoiDujourNX to update to firmware 6.0 as all CFW have been confirmed to work on that firmware, apart from DevMenu.

  1. Yes, there was one person this happened too. https://gbatemp.net/threads/sent-in-switch-for-repairs-got-ipatched-switch-back.520315/
  2. No because there are traces of CFW and homebrew that remain in the system even if you boot the console into OFW. The only way to remove these is by restoring a clean hack-free NAND backup before booting online with OFW

I have SX OS + 5.1 firmware. Can I install XCI games I have on my 32gb SD card onto my switch system to free some SD card space?? I currently cant afford another Sd card..

You will need to use an .XCI installer of which the only available is the homebrew application, ZeroTwoXCI. Your alternative is to convert the .XCI games into .NSP format using 4NXCI or xci2nsp.

Thanks man, Id like to use ZeroTwoXCI because looks like its just "put the xci in and install" but it says it requires some kind of keys.txt, where do I get that??

And also, does installing game to NAND (its system sdd - right?) can break/destroy the console or something?

Hey guys, I have two SD cards. In both of them I have copies of Xenoblade 2 as xci.
Even tho I downloaded an update from Nintendo servers, when I change SD cards, the second card will still tell me to Update, whereas I can still play in the card where I originally updated. I checked and the update was supposed to have downloaded into my system and not into the SD.

I can't find the Update for my game so, any way I can do it?

Either you would look for the keys.txt online (they are copyrighted so they cannot be shared here, even through PM) or you can generate them with another homebrew application named kezplez. More specifically, I am referring to shchmue's fork since it is more stable and works on higher firmwares.

Also I would say you have a greater chance of being struck by lightning than breaking/destroying the console by installing a .XCI game

Outside of dumping the update/downloading it from online then installing it into the second console, you can try following this tutorial to share the update from one Switch to another: https://gbatemp.net/threads/match-v...going-online-on-cfw-need-two-switches.509395/

Well, it's in the same Switch. I have a small SD card with only Xenoblade 2 Installed, and some days ago I got a big one. I placed my XCI there and it tells me to update in the new SD card.

Did you download and install any update .NSP files for Xenoblade for your console?
