I was thinking about trying to track down a 2nd PS4 with older firmware as the one I have I don't want to miss out on games like Red Dead Redemption 2. I was wondering is there any disc ripper to rip games to the hard drive?

Also would I be able to get my saves off my other PS4 to the new one?

Any game requires firmware higher than 5.05 you won't be able to dump it until there is a kernel level exploit released to the public.

Yeah most of these games I already own are most likely 5.05 and lower. Games like Nier Automata, Final Fantasy 15, Witcher 3.

But I do also have games that I know won't work like from this year; Yakuza 6, Far Cry 5

But on the ones that do work would I be able to get my saves off my non-hacked PS4?

I actually just looked up Far Cry 5 and Yakuza 6 and both are 5.05 or lower. Surprised.

game saves are encrypted by the account id, possible console id as well which seem to be governed by pfs (the .bin file).

There is Save Wizard that cost 60 bucks that allow you to resign save , work with Hen, not Mira.

Yeah I'll pass on that. I'll just wait until 6.00 is hacked which I know will be awhile because 5.55 isn't even hacked.

Anyway thanks to you and godreborn for the info.

5.55 is not coming out anytime soon, maybe up to a year that what the developer said, and no one publicly announced is currently working on 6.00, and the Save Wizard thing require the system you are moving the save file to have a PSN account on it.

I think the system also must be activated for save wizard. I sent someone who owns it a save from ftp, and it was unrecognizable by the program. something happens when you export the save, something probably related to pfs. the account id is the folder that saves are exported to. I don't know about a console id, though that seems probable to prevent trophy cheating.

Yeah it's cool I can just stay legit. I was already on 5.55 and then I went ahead and updated to 6.00 because Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Red Dead Redemption 2.

The word on the street is that there is possibly/theoretically a method to play higher games by dumping your keys on 5.05 but and it involves updating... lol sounds like a troll but it’s legitimately a theory that is being tested in private.

I will report back more if it leads to anything.

If you want to track down a 5.05 unit, try with ebay but wait for one of those 20% off discount so you can save some money, most people gonna asks for like 300 for a Phat model,

https://www.ebay.com/itm/PS4-Jailbr...473597?hash=item286911ea3d:g:1~EAAOSwnRtbcMnY

This is probably cheap enough.

I assume it doesn't work, you would still need some sort of compatibility pack that the vita has, to run game that has firmware requirement higher than your system, but first the game still needs to be dumpable.

keys may not technically matter as long as the system can dump and decrypt content, so higher firmware games are likely playable on lower firmware as long as they're dumped on higher firmware. in fact, it says "decrypting pkg" and "decrypting selfs," when dumping a game. there's a way to determine firmware requirements in the header of ps3 games. I tried looking for it on the ps4, but I found nothing. it might require a lot of testing if it's even in there or if it's removed into an elf state for use with hen. the header is above the elf on the ps3. that seemed to be missing on the ps4 games I looked at.

The console would be updated to 6.00 after you obtain the (eap) hdd keys on 5.05.

The theory (I guess) is to decrypt the hdd after it’s had 5.5x-6.00 games installed to it digitally.

I have like 10 pawn shops in my town and several of them sell used PS4s for pretty cheap like around $150. I was going to get one try it out if the firmware was above 5.05 return it try again, if it was above 5.05 again just sell it on my own and I'm sure I could make my money back. Might still do that.

If they are willing to tell you the firmware that would be nice, even for like 200 for an exploitable firmware that is nice, considering how much people actually asks for exploitable one, those pawn shops know about the exploit anyway, so those lower firmware would be at higher price.
