So how we going about system updates if we can't download them
Again would probably depend on the battery. I've heard for the ones used in the Switch its not good for them to drop under a certain percentage (somewhere between 40 and 50%). Whether or not continuously charging them versus letting it naturally decay then manually recharge it may present a small but insignificant difference in the battery life. And based on what I previously said, the console is going to be draining battery anyway if its not on the dock or in sleep mode. If you don't want to keep it on the dock when you're not playing, that may be fine for a while but if you're going to be using it regularly, it makes more sense to just keep it on the dock than continuously turning it on and off (which is not good for the battery). That's not exactly what I meant. I meant continuous charging of it can weaken the battery. is that true?
Thank you I really appreciate that you shared your knowledge with me!Again would probably depend on the battery. There's definitely enough space. The NAND is completely empty and the SD card has over 100gb free.Might not have enough space wherever you're choosing to install them which would explain why smaller .NSP files would work.
Maybe the name is too long? Tinfoil's error codes are not well documented nor helpful so it might be worth experimenting. I'd also ensure that your SD card is not fake using something like h2testw or FakeFlashTest. There's definitely enough space. The NAND is completely empty and the SD card has over 100gb free.
how risky is play online with legit games having the switch hacked?
Nintendo doesn't care whether you own games or not as bans are handed for violations of the ToS not piracy. Piracy is illegal and can get you arrested; modifying the console violates Nintendo's Terms of Service and can get you banned. However, it has been historically easier to detect piracy over homebrew which is why bans related due to piracy are always higher than bans due to strictly homebrew. As long as you are not playing your games as backups and stick to homebrew only, your chances of being banned are low. After all, only one user so far was banned for using only homebrew and he cleared his error logs on firmware 5.X which is not considered to be safe hence why its no longer possible to clear error logs.how risky is play online with legit games having the switch hacked?

I have the same question. All I wanna do is back up my saves and play my legit carts (possibly edit my Splatoon 2 gear slots too)

Filenames are short (intentionally so that its easier to type out in the python script before sending), and the mSD card has been tested to ensure it's real.Maybe the name is too long? New versions always help with the debugging imoFilenames are short (intentionally so that its easier to type out in the python script before sending), and the mSD card has been tested to ensure it's real.
I'm using FAT32 (which is why I'm sending nsps and not just transfering them to the card), but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Gonna have to hope a new version of Tinfoil fixes whatever this is.
Maybe try older build of Tinfoil to see if they 'fix' the issue.Filenames are short (intentionally so that its easier to type out in the python script before sending), and the mSD card has been tested to ensure it's real.

Damn, so I'll still get console banned even if I turn off WiFi while playing backups and only load the stock os for my online games? Its not

Managed to get it working. I was at first simply double clicking the python script that came with the Tinfoil release. This time I tried typing out the commands through Python Shell and that worked.Maybe try older build of Tinfoil to see if they 'fix' the issue.
i just started cfw sx pro for the first time.. copied zelda to my sd card and somehow it wants to download a update?!
i wanted to stay offline from now on, how can i start the game?
im using a xci file and firmware 5.1
Download the updates and DLC offline via your piracy tool of choice and install them using Rommenu, DevMenu, or Tinfoil (recommended).
