There use to a 11.4 one , but Plailect removed it, in the link above is 11.5, and the one I link earlier is 9.2, you don't need to go to 2.1 for this, anyway you would be back to where you are currently if the transfer goes through and you still can't update.
So I did a ctr transfer and it just greeted me with a black screen??.... So uh? Not sure what I did wrong tbh.

Try a ctrtransfer I guess.
Yea black screen on boot. Not booting....

Can you still access Luma settings by holding Select on boot? That should still work, since the FIRM partitions shouldn't have been affected. But I'm not sure why it's black screening... Maybe your NAND is failing?

Yes I can still access everything. I tried doing a ctr transfer with decrypt9 and godmode 9 and they both give me black screens... Black screen on loadup though....

Im gonna restore my nand backup and then just format and see if that helps my update issues... a ctr-transfer does not seem like it will work in my case.

Also try the next two after that one ^:
  • Clear Home Menu extdata
  • Black screen on SysNAND boot after Installing boot9strap
Home menu extdata could be it. IIRC that has been a problem in the past when downgrading.
It's more likely than the NAND failing, that would be a pretty big coincidence for that to fail at the exact moment he performs a ctrtransfer. Although, that could have been why the update was failing, so it's a possibility.

I remember @zacchi4k once advised someone who had problems re-installing games on his n3DSXL, by renaming the Nintendo 3DS folder to something else and then allowing the 3DS to recreate a new one.
Maybe the same can be applied for firmware updating.

@Biff627, you may need a temporary second Nintendo 3DS folder. :/

That's to check if maybe the .db files on the SD card got corrupted

ok so I found out what was stopping it from booting this entire time!! It was my god damn ntrboot flashcart! As soon as I saw that in the trouble shooting part, I was like "oh yea this has to be it" Took it out and it booted 11.5....
It updated perfectly fine as well! No games atm though! Time to restore those!

When you see enough weird 3DS issues, you'll start to think you've seen them all.

Until another one pops up that'll leave you feeling "oOooOhhhh...."

Add "NTRboot flashcart" to the troubleshooting checklist.

Well the bad news is, fbi did not restore all of my games :( I rebooted and it restored like 3....

Do you think I would get banned if I used ciangel to restore my tickets?

You could not even install those files (when I talk about that I mean titles that are linked to the tickets), since Nintendo has put an security protection onto their servers. CIAngel is quite dead as of today.

Hey, just know if you reinstall games with FBI, your saves will be overwritten. This is why Checkpoint or JKSM is used to restore the saves.

You can dump your games as CIAs if you use GodMode9. Your Nintendo 3DS folder that contained those games must be in place on the SD card.
If you don't have the saves backed up, there's another method in extracting and restoring them using Duplicate Cleaner Pro. You'll need to copy the 00000001.sav files before reinstalling the games.
Edit - This method requires Checkpoint/JKSM to backup and restore in order to bypass anti-cheat protection.

I got an encTitleKeys.bin that is like 137.89 KB? that it?

(please delete the link, as it's copyrighted content) If you're talking tickets, it can't be something else than an *insert titleID or ticket*.tik

Keys aren't the same as tickets. Also, remove that link because of forum rules.

If you have a NAND backup, you can extract the *.db files, including ticket, and then reimplement them into CTRNAND.

Your already installed games found in Nintendo 3DS folder can be rebuilt and then reinstalled. The missing tickets will be recreated or spoofed by GodMode9 when making them into CIAs.

You just gotta make sure to copy your 00000001.sav files onto computer before installing those CIAs. And then paste them back in their proper directories, and then bypass their anti-cheat protections using a save manager to backup then restore them.

Use TIKDevil or tikShop. CIAngel can't install just the tickets IIRC. And no, you won't get banned, since everything is done client side, it just uses the title keys stored locally (that you normally download from the title key site) to generate tickets.
But it won't bring back games downloaded from that ISO site etc, only ones that were installed from FreeShop or similar originally.
Did you remember to do the "ctrtransfer ticket copy", then install the tickets with FBI? That should have restored everything.

Yep, it restored them and they did not restore.
